F1 training dojo - show no mercy - chuck norris never sleeps

I noticed at the Nationals in Joliet quite a few people noticed Howard Lo's F1 display car for Speedpassion and asked me why we weren't racing f1, or how much they liked the car...

We will be racing F1. For the fall, there will be a class at The Track in Winthrop Harbor on Tuesday nights for sure. We had a good class last year and there are guys ready with cars right now. The Hurricane Series will also have F1 racing.

Tamiya now has a tire for the F104 available through any hobby shop that works well on carpet and asphalt. It's easy to get involved.

Questions- pm me

Awesome! Not sure I'll make harbor too much this year, due to wk. strictly though on 9-9. Maybe we can get a f1 asphalt race?!

F1 Racing

I would love to try some F1 again. It has been 10 years since I have done any RC racing. Any info or advice on what to get would be great. I would be starting all over again and buying all new stuff.

The Track in Winthrop Harbor is very close to me so it would not be a problem racing there.

Thanks in advance for you help.

A Tamiya F104 V2 is a great way to go if you are starting from scratch. Pretty much ready to race from the box.

Older F104s with an Exotek chassis are similar to the F104 V2. Good cars.

The standard F104 is not bad, but can use a couple hop up parts like the shock and aluminum motor mount.

Some of us here in WI have been running the Tamiya F104s for our parking lot series, and have been having a blast with them. The F104 has also been a good carpet car as well, and with the newer rubber tires available, they hook up very well. If any of you would like to make the trip to either race yours, or want a test drive. I'd let you take my X1 for a run. We'll be having our final session on Sept 16. Would love to have you there.

If not, then I guess we may see you a few times for the fall/winter seasons. In either case, it's great to see that F1 may be making a surge once again.
