For this race we will be bring out someone all the long time offroaders know not only as a racer but announcer aswell. Darrin Leist will be out to announce the 2011 Summer Slam. It will be great to have Darrin out on the mic for this great event. So guys lets mark those calenders and have a great day of fun and racing.

Just an FYI. The track layout will be re-done before the big event. It should be a much more challenging and entertaining layout than what we have now. The sponsor response has been extremely positive! This event should be one to remember!

so what's the surface like?? clay, sand, just dirt?? does it bluegroove easy?? is it kept kinda loamy or hard packed with something added like calcium chloride?? just try'n to get an idea of what to expect

is there a hobby shop near by?

The surface is hard packed yellow clay and it can blue groove. The closest hobby shop is grayslake hobby world which is about 7-8 minutes. The Track at Harbor Hobbies is 20 minutes away. Adventure hobbies is 25 minutes away and Hobbytown Northbrook is 30 minutes away. If you need parts at the track I generally have some parts and or know someone that may have depending on the make of the vehicle.

We will be moving the stand that is there now and putting in a better temporary drivers stand. The track is located on park district property and this is what they have. We have submitted plans for a real drivers stand but are awaiting approval. In other words red tape...

you....you...you don't like my bodybag?? (we're not joking about it either...when we went to indiana this past winter, the pit bag i've got had to of weighed at least 150lbs....and it does have the outline of a body at the bottom )
