WINFIELD RC RACES SAT. 7/16
On Saturday we had a lot of close, exciting races in all of our classes which included VTA, Slash, Off Road, Tamiya Mini, and Traxxas Rally. The veterans and rookies demonstratd a lot skill and patience. Dylan and Alex did an excellent job. Everyone had fun, and the church members appreciate the funds that were raised. We want to thank John R. for coming early to help set up. Thanks to all the people who stayed to help clean up which included Dylan, Alex Jeff, Gary, John, Ken, Mr. Kuc and Gerry. Thanks to Gerry for calling a few races. Our next race is Aug. 13.

I updated the July calendar in the first post to show the Midwest Nitro Series race at Leisure Hours. I'm guessing that means electric club racers will have to choose another track this weekend.

The calendar has been updated to include the Leisure Hours Finale trophy race on September 25. Both electric and nitro will be running. In fact, it's that way on their website the next two weekends so I think they may be running them together for the rest of the season. Make's sense since after the AA race, most electric racers should understand that their is no need to cut down the track for electrics. The VTA class needed all that room for the 17 car mains this past Sunday which ran relatively clean. Couldn't have done that anywhere else!
Hobbytown in St. Charles is moving soon and their racing program will likely undergo some adjustments for the new parking lot which is not quite as smooth as their old one. The Elburn Days race this year had a decent turn out despite the storms that blew through in the morning causing a delay. They had a nice layout on a good sized track. More on-roaders really need to check out this race next year. All sorts of fun at the Elburn Days festival going on around you including some pretty cool tractor pulls.
September 17th is your last chance to race at the church lot in Winfield this summer. Did I mention that if you attend this race it's possible to rationalize an excuse for not going to church on the following Sunday
Kids are going back to school this week and summer is winding down quickly. Strictly, Harbor, Leisure Hours, SCHT, Winfield all have some outdoor racing left to do. Get out and support your favorite program so they'll be there next summer when you get the itch to race outdoors again. You'll be missing it after a few race days of sniffing Paragon in closed spaces through the winter.

If I'm feeling well enough, I'm planning on VTA tomorrow for Winfield. Maybe we can get Jeff, Ken and Mark out and get a real class going. If Paul H. shows that would be 6 with me and Dave. MD, I'm pretty sure you have a VTA car so that would be 7. John would make 8 as long as we don't complain about the legality of his car. Heck, maybe we can even get Ed B. out. Let's see if we can drag these guys out here tomorrow for a real class. I can't make LH this week and the weather forcast for Sunday is looking gloomier that Saturday any way. I will have kids in tow so I'm only going to be able to do one class. I was kind of hoping to get the mini out for one more race this year, but it might have to wait.
