Racing starts in West Salem, WI Sunday, April 21st
The racing series will start racing Sunday, April 21st at the West Salem, WI fairgrounds go-kart track.
The RC Racing Challenge Series is a weekly remote control car-racing league, running every other weekend from April 21st through October. We will be running on Sunday’s afternoons at noon.
The track is a paved, 642 ft. banked oval. It is extremely fast and requires nerves of steel. We have an AMB timing and scoring system, with the ability to print out lap times during hot lap sessions.
Drivers fee are $8.00 for the first class (We have a million dollars of insurance coverage at the track)
We have several classes Street Spec, Stock Pan, and Trucks, along with a nitro class.
We Will try to fit you into a class.
The Challenge Series has been set up for racers of all ages. The majority of racers will have one other family member racing. (Father and son, or kids racing and parents helping at the track.) For more information on all forms of racing in the coulee region, go to http://www.4Racers.com or call Darrin Gunderson 608-779-4863

I've heard that nitro oval is a total blast...
Get some NASCAR-style bodies on there, haha

It is a lot of fun. The track is very smooooth, just as nice as carpet. I am not sure what the banking is.
we have a couple of gas pan cars that just fly. we fiigured 45mph. this year we have an AMB system so we will know.
It is a blast, Come try it.

I ran "Spec" class last year. I ran green rears, orange and blue fronts.
The Stock guys were running blue rears and orange fronts (I think)
The stock class guys were using GM3 and any batterys
Spec class have to use Spec motor, 1500mah battery and spec tires.

go to the back of this months NITRO magazine.....they have a really cool idea for nitro oval racing. it would be fun to run rubber tires ("as hard as you can get for less traction to eliminate the high horspower guys"), oval bodies (spoilers only)mandatory pit stops. a bunch of cool stuff you could do.
so your schedule is every other saturday starting this weekend. including holidays? i'd love to make a road trip just to try it. what you think Kraig? do a little circle track like in the good ol days. maybe i'll bust out the Kool-aid body.
anyway, good luck this summer Gundy and i hope i can make it up sometime.
