Talking Rockford has a new r/c track

I got word that there was a new hobby store with a track.
So brad jhonson and brian koch and I had to check it out.
It is located in the machesney park mall off of hwy 251.
It was a hobbytown usa. They had a track but they were to damm lasy to ever do anything with it. The owner is currently working on getting a scoring system and more pit tables built.
It does have brand new carpet. And was layed by an expert. It is
90x40 100x40 i think. Right now you can practice on it. As far as the first race we will have to wait and see. But it looks to be a very promising track. Its called Humpals bike and hobby. So for me its only 5 minutes from my house and 5 minutes from Hurricane motorsports. Which will be great for us guys in this area. As far as classes go i know sedan for sure. And probaly oval.
As far as what days racing will be he will probaly work with other tracks so there is no conflicts till it gets going well.
But for a city this big its about time

So the Hobbytown went out of business and now it's a privately owned hobby shop?

That sounds promising... more so than that goofy Hobbytown was.

No, Hobbytown moved to a different part of Rockford to get out of the mall. The bike shop was on the other side of the mall (in a smaller store), and moved into the old HobbyTown when they moved out.

From what I was told, Hobbytown ripped up the carpet on the way out so that it wasn't usable in the future. Humpals moved in, and layed new carpet.

I'm glad it sounds like it will be a good deal, and hopefuly his hobbyshop grows.

Doug - I don't know the #, but it is Humpals Bike Shop, inside the Machesney Park Mall.

If you were to do a online yellow pages search, it would be on N. 2nd st, Machesney Park IL

Default Liberty Bell! (A quote from Homer)

I just checked my phone messages after a Sunny week in Florida (also mixed in were 60 mph winds, numerous tornados, flash flooding, power outages and near record low temps). I have a message on there from Humpals! The number is 815-636-8513.

I wasn't able to find a website yet.
