I've seen a couple posted questions on the other threads so thought I'd start one for this race.

Dates are March 6th and 7th.

2010 Team Checkpoint Chi-Town Shootout

March 5 - 7 / Leisure Hours Raceway / Joliet, IL

Primary sponsors: Team Checkpoint / Leisure Hours / R/C Car Magazine

Secondary sponsors: Futaba / Duratrax / J Concepts / Much More / UpGrade RC / Proline / Tekin / Associated / Parma / Novak / Hot Bodies / Panther

Classes: Mod Buggy / Mod Truck / Mod 4WD / 13.5 - Truck / Rookie / Open Short Course / Slash (Leisure Hours Rules) / 1/8 E Buggy / 1/8 E Truggy

Race times: 5 minute qualifiers (total of 4) / 6 minute mains / 8 drivers per main plus 2 bump ups / 1/8 Electric 10 minute A main

Dash for Cash: After all qualifiers are finished, the top four drivers in each class will race a “special layout”, inverted start, winner take all. 100% of all money raised in the raffle will go towards winnings. Eligible classes are Mod Buggy, Mod Truck and 19T truck.

Saturday Night Team Short Course Enduro: Limit 15 trucks. (first come, first serve) Qualifying will be a ten minute open practice. Fastest laps times will seat you for the main. The main event will be 30 minutes in length with a mandatory battery change and driver change. (Open Short Course rules)

Team Award: A team is made up of any four drivers. Each driver can only use one class per team sheet. Entry fee is $4.00 per team. Winning team takes 100% of all entries.

Tough Luck Award: The last qualifier in each class will receive a one year subscription to R/C Car Magazine.

TQ Award: The Top qualifier in each class will receive a custom Upgrade RC pit mat.

Trophies: This race has always been known for huge trophies and this year will be no different.

Event T-Shirts: All registered drivers will receive a free event shirt.

Giveaways / Raffles: Sponsors will be donating a ton of great giveaways. 100% of the money raised from raffles (3 raffle prizes) will go towards Dash for Cash.

Schedule:
Friday March 5 – Open practice 12:00 am – 9:00 pm

Saturday March 6 – 3 qualifiers / Dash for Cash / Short Course Enduro
Doors Open 8:00 am – Race at 11:00 am

Sunday March 7 – 4th qualifier and all mains with bump ups
Doors Open 8:00 am – Race at 9:00 am

Entry Fee’s: First class $35.00 / Second class $25.00

Wish I could make it.....was trying to reschedule a conflict with that weekend and then a meeting for work was scheduled for Friday....looks like I'll have to miss this one for another year:cry:

Even if you get there at 4 or 5 on Friday, you'll still have practice time!

How many people usually attend this race? Maybe a better question would be how long you think each round would be? Kid has a b-ball game starting at 1:30. gets done by 2:30 which would put me there about 4:00 or 4:30. Figure I will miss at minimum 1 round possibly 2. Not sure if it would be orth it then. Never know though.:confused::confused:

That would be fine with me. Controlled practice would be a good thing.
