The CW rubber tires also last a while too - I'm on my second year with the EDM.

I got most of the rules figured out so I will be getting them posted this weekend.

I got my Sprint Car today and my EDM should be a Roller by the end of the weekend!

Joe,
I ended up buying a used car for now. The car that I bought is a Hybrid CW/Losi mix(Vintage).

If alot of guys are wanting to run sprint cars (myself maybe inc.) and don't have them yet or are looking into oval for the first time. I think you should look at how successful the spec slash class is and go with a 1/10 losi sprint car class.Stock losi sprinter the spec type tire and stock motor that comes in it and then a brushless option a 13.5 -8.5 since most of us have something like that layingaround or can be purchased reasonable. If you feel the custom works car doesn't have an advantage then it could be included but I highly doubt that's the case. Look at how those mini late model's took off because of the spec aspect. Just thinking out loud and think it would be something to look into, Ryan would be able to stock parts easier also with a majority of losi sprint cars

From talking with Ryan about the Classes and rules, one thing that we do not want to do is to have 10 classes and have three people racing in each class. From the research that I have done, the Losi Slider could race with the CW and other Sprint cars out on the market. From this being said, we should stay with one Sprint Car class. The Sprint Car Class will be based off of Rules from the DODC(DirtOvalDotCom). DODC has a Spec Sprint Car Class(13.5/Lipo but they are capped at 3200mah). Tires will be the CW Tire and Insert that Ryan has Ordered and are in stock at the Hobby shop. We would have to run the Stock Slider Tires to see if they would work on the track.

The car that I will be drive is Hybrid CW(cage, shock towers and body) with Losi Trans and Suspension. The car is not a mid motor car.

Thumbs up Dirt Oval Rules for 2009 Summer Season

After talking with Ryan, I finally have the rules for the classes that CCX is planning on run for the start of the season. There will be room to grow if we need more classes when the time comes.

1: EDM---Eastern Dirt Modified---2wd based buggy or Conversion, 10.5 Brushless, Lipo 2cell, CW Spec Tire and EDM Body(also will run an IMCA body in this class)IMCA body would have a 6" X 3" Side Dam with a 2" Rear Spoiler

2: Sprint Car---Based on DODC Rules---13.5 Brushless, 2cell Lipo with a 3200 mah cap and CW Spec Tires. Cap Rule on Lipo is a questionable item.

3: MOD Truck---Based on Indoor Rules---Open Motor, 2cell Lipo and Rubber Tire.

4: 8th Scale Late Model---This class rules are still in the works. We need to run the cars to see what the Official Rules will be. I do know that the plan is to run the Losi Late Model Tires and Body.

5: 1/18th Scale Late Model/Slider---?

6: Slash-Late Model---?

7: Bomber---17.5 Class---?

8: 10th Scale Gas Truck---?

Battery Rule can run 6cell packs if you do not have a Lipo

Both #5 thur #8 are optional if the interest is there.

Also if there is alot of people that do buy the Losi Slider(10th scale) we will have to see what people plan on running with them.

If you have any questions please pm me
Thank you
Dave

Thank you to CCX for doing the Dirt Oval Program and Building of the Track

I added the finishing touches to the rules at this time. Hopefully pretty soon the track will get started and start racing!

Dave and Hot Rod, Rules look ok for the EDM and Sprint, I don't have interest in the others. Battery cap is not terribly important in a 4 minute race unless you end up with a big track with gobs of traction - remember this is Dirt! The biggest difference I can see with the Losi vs CW type sprinters may be durability. The CW Outlaw is a tank, everything is strong.

See ya soon on the track!
