Default Slash Bash 2008 at the Outback 12/20/08

The following from the Outback and Ulitmate threads:

The outback lies beneath a gentle blanket of pure white snow. It thought it could sleep until 2009, but no such luck. Saturday, December 20th, the snows shall be parted with a short-notice Slash gathering. A snowblower carved track of some type will emerge with at least 1 jump (more if YOU grab a shovel)

Some transpondering with the iLap system will be available. A warm garage can keep you away from a chilly death while you are not out there running your Slash. I don't have a Slash, but our first Slash entry is SavageChick's.

Why not?

All Electric Outdoor Off-Road Track

So who wants to come out next weekend and play in the snow?

Bob, thanks for letting us play on your track!

Kim

Just to be sure, the date is December 20, 2008. I think we have a past-due November date on out title. [Hey, how did that change?]

Wow. Of course Union is so close by.

Let's discuss the time because I am open. Based on the daylight plus post-Friday night syndrome, I am guessing joining up sometime in the 11 to 3 o-clock timeframe. If you're bringing 4 or 5 people, you probably have more say so.

You can always request some other date in addition to this date.

The snow seems like it is firming up and not really too deep. We might just run a course without the snowblowing -- forest oval, tree slolam, cob country racing, etc.

Let's say we are open all the way from 11am til 3pm. Nothing wrong with coming a bit early or staying a bit later. If folks want to announce their arrival times, then other folks could try lining up with that. It could be a nice chance to meet other local people before the next outdoor season. I will put my regular sign up at the road by the driveway that says "RC->". Just pull in a park somewhere around the driveway circle, or just anywhere if the snow is not too deep for you.

4 more days. Will there be snow? For a while, the dirt had emerged, but today it is covered again.

You never know. But I will be on-site for sure. I guessed that only fairly local foks would consider dropping by, so even if it is too cold, dropping in for a visit or a look is just fine. The garage will be open and warm. If the snow is too little, then there can be messing around on the track.

I had envisioned that with snow, I would run my computer in the garage and have a scoring bridge near the house. If we go out in the woods or to the track, I haven't made a protected setup for the scoring computer out there. So the if the scoring setup is critical to your visit, we can talk about it.

For a Slash, is there such a thing as conditions that are "too" bad?
