Remember he was running a 13.5 on Sunday instead of a 17.5......so I wouldn't compare horsepower just yet.

Default Servo for Gen X10? Extra Battery Bars?

Hey guys, I've had this servo laying around for awhile. Is this enough for a pan car? Not thrilled with it being plastic geared, but its paid for.

Futaba S9650 rated at;
4.8V 50.0 oz-in. 0.14 sec/60

It's already installed in the car, I'll just be sure to bring a back up.

I'm almost ready to rock-n-roll with the new car. Just have to get the body painted and trimmed, and fiddle with my battery packs a little. I might be in a little pinch though. If someone has any extra battery bars I could bum, beg for, borrow or steal for this weekend... I'd really appreciate it!

As long as you use a servo saver, that servo will get you going. It is a tic slower then what I am using (JR Z3650 @ .11 - 4.8v), but won't be to bad I think. And I have some batt bars if you need them.

I am not familiar with electric carpet racing but would love to get into it. What cars would you recommend for somebody wanting to get started? I have always been into off road nitro and am originally from Marion

There are 2 popular classes right now. 1/10 Pan car and 1/12 pan. There are a couple of touring cars in the mix, but not nearly as many as the other 2.

Popular chassis for 1/10 is the CRC Gen X 10. The World Gt guys are running close to these rules here. http://www.worldgtrc.com/ Also in the mix, are a couple of Gen X 10's running 21.5 (I think) brushless and lipos. Both setups are fairly close, depending on the driver.

The 1/12 field is very close as well. Very wide variety of chassis, from old to new. Pick your flavor, honestly.

I just picked up a Gen X10 from the track owner and this weekend will be my first time racing if all goes well!

Come on out! They have organized practice on Wednesdays at 5pm and racing on Sundays at 1pm.

and coming from a complete beginner as far as carpet is concerned, 1/12 scale seems to be the class to get into.

as many walls as i've hit and its still in one piece, these cars are tough for sure

I'll bring an extra esc I might sell on Sunday. Works great and its almost brand new! Okay, a year old, but only ran about 10 packs....

Look up the specs. Its a Novak GTS. I think it will handle about 12-14 turns and up. Seriously though... I'd pass this up and go to Novak's website and order a reman brushless setup. Even an Ex Sport series would be better than a brushed setup at this point.

Oh, btw, glad ur here, I'm not the nooby anymore! HA!!

I'll hit someones tweak station before I run Sunday. Car seems neutral, but if I have to add anything to one side, I have a mini 6v pack I might throw on. This servo is rated at [email protected] 6v.

Can I just plug the pack in the receiver and run both the esc and a battery pack or do I need to do something fancy to keep from blowing up the receiver???? Never tried this. I know onroad is all about weight savings so it may not be worth the effort.

aaron2u- Is the ESC you talking about for a 1/12th? Ive got a Tekin G11 Pro already that iam gonna use for my CRC 3.1. Iam mainly looking for a ESC/Motor for my XRAY M18.
