Default Popular Class?

Is 12th scale ruling the roost or will there be a better turn out for touring? pan? I'm open and I'm ready to order a kit....

I'm usually an Associated guy, but the CRC GX10 looks bad ass!

Right now 1/12 is probably the biggest, but the 1/10 pan will be growing soon as kits become available.

Where you located ? You should stop by tomorrow. We are having our first race of the season and we have new folks coming out to run.

Default So ILL Racing

Hey jrp, I'm located here in Carbondale. I used to race carpet up at Joe's Hobby Barn in Terre Haute about 8 years ago. Never did get into the pan cars, more the gearbox classes, mostly truck, but some buggies. Before I left I tried out touring car for awhile with an FTTC3, wasn't in it long enough to get fast, but I still loved racing carpet! i still have a can of Paragon that i have to smell about once a month...

The 12 scales weren't really popular there because of ride height restrictions with the new carpet. One or two packs and it was time for a set of tires. I tried running a friends L30 a few times, but he had the suspension so jacked that is wasn't drivable for me.

I'm racing on a budget so I really have to weigh out a few different things. I basically need a chassis to find a home for my 5.5L or 13.5 and gtb, and I'd like to run something where i can use this new lipo saddle pack I just got from Maxamps for my B44. I only have 2-3 nimh's left that are mediocre at best.

Suggestions?

I suggest you come by the track tomorrow. You can check out what everyone around here is running. We'll be there by 10 am and probably not finish til 5 or so.

Default Holly Cow!

Visited the track today for the first time... These guys are fast! Bitten by the onroad bug again!

Hopefully I can have something together to come out in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks again, JRP for answering all of my nooby questions. I'm inspired now to try out the World GT class being that the popular chassis can play a few different roles. I'm a little ahead anyways cause I can make about 4 battery packs, and I already have a 13.5 setup and transponder.

One thing... The jaco tires recommended.... Are any available at the track? Can't find any online.

I have a question. Are 1/18th cars with foam tires allowed to run down there? Itll be cool to start a 1/18th class.
