An alert to the local racers around NE Wisconsin... On Wednesday we had a customer of Victory Hobbies in Green Bay have 3 nitro trucks stolen out of the back of a car. There was an Associated MGT 8.0, an HPI Savage and a Traxxas T-Maxx. If anyone hears of someone trying to sell one of these items or just knows something about the theft please call Victory Hobbies at 920.884.7300.
Thanks! Brian

Weather held out all day. Nice track! Really nice store. We had alot of fun. Those Slash trucks really do look like the real thing while racing out there. Looks like fun. Maybe we will see you again on Aug 16th.

At this time I believe the only mods can be any batteries, receivers/radios, any shock oils, custom painted Slash bodies.
Must run stock tires (no grooving), stock speed control (typically set to sport mode), stock motor (12T Traxxas) and I think stock servos.
The goal was to maintain a stock package for everyone to enjoy. With the proper traction, these things are a blast.
I know the track was a bit on the wet side for the A-main last week, but with the ability to hose off most of the components it really makes it easy.
Chuck, are you getting one?

Saturday August 2nd
Just wondering if you will be running a monster truck class this week Saturday, August 2nd.
We were thinking about coming up there but it is over an hour drive for us. We would be bringing a Revo and an MGT.
Do you think there will be enough monster trucks to run a class?
Thanks!!!!!

If you're coming with two, we'll for sure have another one to run a class. Hopefully more!!

I took the advice you gave me and did not hose down the Slash. It was good advice but didn't stop water from the moist A-main from getting into the trani. I'll need to track down a bearing or the Slash will be setting on the bench tomorrow. I would also advise others to steer clear of the hose when cleaning their Slash.
I'm going to bring out the new 8ight tomorrow. I'll have to break it in, but hopefully I'll be able to race it.

Hosing down a waterproof Slash sounds like a good idea to clean the mud off until you go to do maintenace and find the bearings rusted and locked up. Some water is ok, but I definitely would not soak it with water. WD40 and an air compressor is my best friend for cleaning. It lubes and washes at the same time.
Luckily, I have a Traxxas T-Maxx that uses the some of the same bearings as the Slash and swapped them out. You'll know if the diff bearings are rusting because the truck will want to pull to one side when you get on the throttle.
Bring on that new Losi 8. Someday I'm going to upgrade to a better 1/8 buggy similar to that one. It's always a fun time at Northern races. It's a nice relaxed setting.
