Just wondering.....Strictly is seeing people that are now interested and are serious about racing the event and the event is filled. Would it be worth it for them to just show up and hope a pre-registered racer doesn't show up in hopes of getting in? I know at most bigger events some racers commit but then there's certain percentage of no-shows.

Is there anyway to weed out people who signed up but aren't serious?

Thumbs up

We have physical space limitations for pit area, plain and simple. It was important to pre-register to guarantee a spot at the event, and if someone hasn't done so yet, there are no promises.

I am expecting a few no-shows, but with the excitement and enthusiasm seen for this event in such a short period of time, I wouldn't count on it. Walk-ups would be accepted on the day of the race, but only until the capacity is met, and nothing further.

They could always hope for nice weather and pit outside.

Hey that works!!

One more question:

Is there a max limit to racer attendance if people can pit from their cars outside?

I won't mention anything until someone checks with the track's owner to make sure he'd allow people to pit outside. Maybe you've already done that.........

I was joking, but we'll have to check with the building management. I don't know the answer to that.

I had a tangent thought....

there's a bunch of engineers here...

what's the load on the electrical service when 72 people are all charging at 6amps at the same time?

There is also TIME issues. If all 72 show, there are 8 heats of cars (9 in each). Each of these is an 8 minute race. Assuming 3 minutes in between each heat, that puts us at a 7 hour day assuming no glitches. Then add in the time to setup and run the 50 lap battle Royal!!

Are the races 5 minutes or 8 minutes? I thought that they were 5 minute races.

Yours and Rob's cars will stop counting at the 5 minute mark while everyone else will go the full 8 minutes.....
