What a wonderful experience that was yesterday. From racing, to the facility and to the best looking cars. What more can you ask for?
A big thanks to the entire Whitsides family. Eric for running an extra smooth race and keeping everyone informed. There was a lot of newer people there and to me knew exactly what they needed to do. Karen for being very attentive at the store and always smiling. I don't even get that at my local hobbyshop! And RJ for helping me out looking for some odd ball screws that I needed. What a cool Kid with a great taste in cars ( tc5) Even though I've only been there three times they always make me feel welcomed.

I had a great time at the Trans Am race this Saturday. Being pitted between "The Princess" and Gary Katzer and right accross from Trouble Maker #1 and all the other guys at my table, made for a very entertaining day.
"The Track" did a wonderful job of hosting this event.
It was way cool seeing all those "Muscles Car" on the track.
Ideas suggestion for the next event;
1. Have a Trans Am points series, run on 4 - 6 of the tracks around the midwest.
2. Maybe have the race a little later in the year, Mid-May AND have a car show associated with the Trans Am race. I would bring my 98 Mustang Cobra.
3. Better yet an outdoor parking lot race Trans Am race and car show combo.
Trans Am forever

Thanks to everyone for a great race! Some of you know that I travel quite a bit for work and have raced or wrenched at lots of races at all levels. This was by far the most enjoyable one I've been to in a long time.
On to my "secret project" for next year.
BTW,
Part numbers for the sound unit. It's nothing special and in fact it's meant for R/C tugboats!

I used a smaller speaker to fit in the car:

Thanks to Rob King for help with the "megaphone" to increase the volume.

Sound was cool!! I thought it would have been really cool if the pitch on the sound rev'd up when you hit the throttle but it sounded like it was in idle mode all the time. The unit you posted looks like it should change tone... is there something you were unable to hook up to make it work that way? Or was I just not hearing it correctly?
