Short of getting poured on again the Thunder track crew should have it ready for the MWNX race. The track's local opener has been put on hold, however.

Then again, some of the appeal of Thunder is the hardcore offroad "raw and rough" track conditions

A lot can happen in two weeks...so as far as this rain the last few days goes...I think we'll be in fine condition two weeks from now. All I have to do now is get that money order to Mother Nature, we made a deal for the weekend of the Kickoff!

Hey thought I'd see if we could post a couple ideas for track tips tires and such. I know at monroe we would run the crimefighters and they seemed to work best. What tires were you guys running at thunder and dirt dawgs

At Thunder you'll want something durable, that track's really good for grinding tires away. And last year at Dirt Dawgs, a long spike (i.e., a step pin) looked like a good idea as the track had a thick layer of fluff on top of it.

I just spoke with Marc Jensen at Byron Fuels, and it looks like the decals will NOT be available before the first round of our series. I have received a number of emails from racers that are interested in running the contingency series, and they are looking for decals.

You are NOT expected to find your own decals, and until Byron Fuels ships me the decals, we will not be requiring the racers to display the decals on thier cars. Of course, you will still be required to check in with us on the morning of the race to fill out the registration sheet for the contingency, and we'll still be looking for the Byrons fuel to be displayed in the pits.

The contingency didn't include Smallblock Stadium anyway, did it?

You're correct...only 8th Scale Buggy and 8th Scale Truggy are eligible for the contingency.

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen!

This time next week we'll be pulling into Thunder RC for the biggest race of the season for the Jammin Midwest Nitro Kickoff. Cash and prizes worth over $750 will be distributed after the race. This is really your last chance to contact any racing buddies that might not be planning to attend. Make sure they know what kind of prizes are at stake: Stuff from Jammin Products, Traxxas and Associated.

In the event that weather causes us to cancel the event ( I don't even want to consider that right now ) then the race will be post-poned until the FOLLOWING weekend, Saturday, May 24th at the same time, same race track.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for some beautiful weather next Saturday!

Is there a number to call and find out if it is raining? A couple of us are going to have a hour and a half ride to get there from IL.

Step pins or a tall outdoor fuzzy (i.e., Pro-Line Bowtie) always worked well for me, and if you can, get something in a hard compound or you'll be running slicks by the end of the day.

Yes, call my cell. If I don't answer, I'll have a new message on the voicemail. (262)496-6394

Weather does call for rain, doesn't say how much or when, but it doesn't sound like much. "Few showers". Maybe we won't have to water the track
