I talked to Scott L.

He said it's been confirmed that Allen's will only be running oval this weekend.

Looks like no racing for the on-road group.

Yea, we're screwed.... lol The schedule got set before the season and way before the 13.5 came to be, but no one realized the conflicting dates until it was too late. I guess the 17.5 guys want to run this weekend, so changing the schedule wouldn't be fair.

And I wanted to run my Vintage Trans-Am this weekend too! I don't know if I will have it done tonight or not Oh well

It sure is sad to see that 2 tracks that are only a little over 1 away can't work together. Years ago we would work together with big races. I guess when the leader of the sportsman boys says lets stay home, the rest of the sportsman boys just follow. I'm sure the oval guys from Hensley's will be looking forward to the February Sportsman race. Unless we happen to be racing the 13.5 cars that weekend.

Have fun pickin those cherries.

All of us from Hensleys want to go up to allens one weekend.
So we are probally going to skip Hensleys one weekend and make a short trip.
Its sad but o well, We can allways try to talk him into it, but as allways,

His stinking oval guys come first before anything, we dont even get a practice night anymore beacuse of it. Its sad.

For 1/18th, do Mini Ts run???
And how has the Mini Slider class been doin???
Are brushed motors allowed in Pan cars???

I was gonna go up there today after i found out Hensleys touring car class was 13.5 only! Then it was too late for me to go up!

I beleive you can run a brushed stock motor in the pan-cars, but I'm not positive(I assume you mean oval). They are for sure allowed in 12th scale in on-road as we run both 17.5 and 27t together there. They are pretty even it seems.

The only on-road classes being run right now are: 12th stock/17.5 and Mini Cooper. As usual 3 or more make a class, but everythign else just died off. A Vintage Trans-am class is kind of being started which is any 4wd Touring Car on 4-cell stock with approved vintage Trans-am bodies. So far motor rules haven't been finalized, but currently we are running brushed stock 27t. We already have 5 or 6 guys with cars, hopefully will have enough to run a class this Sunday. They look pretty cool and they race even better.

Which brings me to my next point... this Sunday is ON-ROAD ONLY at Allen's. I guess the oval guys are going to a BRL race this weekend.

Also mark down March 15th weekend on your calender. I guess this is the weekend for the March Madness here at Allen's. It hasn't been decided for sure yet, but I think it will all be held on Saturday.

Hope to see a good turnout this weekend.

Thumbs up

Hey guys,

We just announced many of the details of the April 12th Trans Am Nationals that will be at The Track in Winthrop Harbor in Illinois. We got full support from HPI Racing and are in talks with a few other companies at the moment, including coverage from RCDriver and RCXtreme Magazines.

This is a one-day, Trans Am ONLY race in the Reedy Race of Champions race format (no qualifying, 5 mains, one throwout), along with a 50-lap 20-car shootout at the end of the day. There are lots of other cool things planned for the day, including Concours, Longest Haul award and many other "contests" with great prizes.

We're capping the feild at 60 cars, though, so it's important to pre-register through the USVTA website. Check out www.usvintagetransam.com and hit the "Events" section for race details and fill out the Nationals pre-registration form as soon as possible. We are working on XXXL shirts if you need something in a "beefy size" so hang tight.

Hope to see you guys out here in April!
