Im sure leisure will be around a long time im just talking big picture. Look Rob you know as well as i how many tracks have come and gone, the list is very long. The racers are a fickle bunch. No real loyality to any track all it takes is a few guys to start going to another track and talking about how cool it is and bam race entries start to drop. then people get sick of racing the same 5 people. I know I did. Oh and whatever you do Dont have a National of any kind. it just kills the local racing. Ya see most drivers think they are fast but guess what they suck!! yep I said it. Hell in the big picture i suck as well but its when you figure out that you spent enough to put down on a house just to play with cars because you thought you had a shot at the big time. Countless hours at the track away from things that really matter like family and work. all in persuit of yet another plastic trophy. Like anyone needs thoes. (i have boxes and boxes full if you do just let me know you can have them all.) then when the nats come to town you find yourself way back in the mains thinking this sucks. Why do I bother. Then its off to other things. Ive seen it many times. Trust me I know. Well im off to go bass fishing looks like a nice day. And not a transponder in site

why not start a club??? i have been involved with r/c racing for nearly 18 years. starting when i was seven, my dad and i were part of a club in bloomington, that club was still active for at least the next following five years of my time with them. then my family and i moved to northern illinois(freeport). we joined a club there that had already been in existance for nealy 5-6 years. my dad and i joined the club in 1997, were active members untill the club became to small and communtiy politics got in the way, that was 2002. so for nearly 15-16 years this club was active.

i have no clue who anybody is that races sedan in the area, but it looks like there is a big crowd, which means there is alot of money going around. why can't all of you guys that care alot about this sport start a club. take and divide the cost over erverybody who wants to join and do it. then you know there will be a place to race. i know that you have a strong following of sedan in the area, i have seen it. i have been to many sedan races to watch a close friend of mine race, there always seems to be alot of people. and alot of those pit spaces have a few grand of equipment sitting with them.

i miss racing in the club atmosphere. when 1/10 scale left the area, my dad and i went 1/4 scale racing. that was good for awhile, but when TRACK OWNERS can't stay open because of lack of interest, everyone looses

The only way a track would survive would be around a populated shopping type area. Look at Trackside and His and Hers. Both are in populated areas in the middle of other shopping options. Plenty of traffic to get people interested.

Darrin just take over that one Mall track and make it 1/12th only LOL :P

Can't we just all get those wing plane things you were always flying outside of Venture? Those things looked fun.

A track in McHenry would be great. Since RSJ closed I've managed to race my car a grand total of twice simply because I don't have time to drive to a track. I hear His & Hers has track but haven't been there yet.

I got so desperate to have an RC toy of some sort to play with that I bought a helicopter this summer

Darrin- What's up old friend? Speakin' of toy cars, do you still have your tenth scale gas truck? I was hoping to see you at the Liesure Pro Series race. (Sept 15th-17th) I'll be there looking for you. I agree with alot of what you posted in regards to big races and the reality of not being as fast as one thinks they are. It' s a fine line between having fun and keeping a competetive frame of mind to try to improve. We all need to find that balance and have a good attitude. For me, racing is about hanging with my buddies. Again, hope to see you soon bro.
