Default THE GROOVE R/C RACEWAY

Coming this 2022 season! A new On Road R/C Track in Wilmington IL. It will feature both Nitro and Electric Tenth and Eight Scale cars. We will host Midwest Series Races and other fun weekend events. The layout will mimic the famous Toledo Eighth Scale Racers track with a few tweaks. Keep on the lookout here for updates. Or go to The Groove Facebook page. The Groove R/C Raceway | Facebook

Thank You Dan Louis for securing the property and making this venture happen! It will be located on Kelly Ave in Wilmington IL at the Joliet MX track.

If you have Q's or suggestions, please post them up. We want your ideas to make this a great, fun place to race!

If you're talking about the winter months, Dan L. has purchased the old Impact track in Morris. Onroad and Offroad will happen there. I'm concentrating on The Groove for now.

Unfortunately, I had to post this on our FB group page... Very upsetting. But maybe for the best??

I hate bad news as much as anyone. I found out this morning that big business has screwed me again. A solar energy company has made a substantial offer to buy the property that was to be The Groove. This transaction will happen. We can't invest the time and money into the track for one season. That being said, if anyone knows of a 3–4-acre parcel that could be our future RC home, please let us know. It needs to be in the south Chicagoland area bordered roughly by I65 to the east, Morris IL to west, and Kankakee to the south. The land could bought outright or leased at the right price.
To say this is upsetting is an understatement. The interest generated in a new onroad track far exceeded my expectations. I'm hoping one of you racers that posted or messaged me know of a piece of property to go forth with our plans. Needless to say, we need to be good neighbors and need to have a big buffer to a residential area. Please reach out to anyone you know that might have something we could use.
That being said, the good news is the Dan L. closed the deal on the old Impact track and the venture will proceed as planned. The Thunderdome will be open sometime mid-summer. (my estimate) I only wish the property was large enough for The Groove.
As an RC community, I believe someone will come through with a parcel for us to build on. The word is out, and I need your help to make this happen. Stay Well, Regards, Nick

Reach out to your contacts, friends, neighbors, etc,, The interest generated from the announcement created quite a buzz. We need to find a place to rent or lease to build our permanent track. Somebody knows a suitable spot. Hard packed gravel or beat up asphalt for a base preferred.
