i am thinking about getting a 1/12 scale ride to run in st charles. i am not new to rc(30 + year racer) but totally new to 12th scale. can someone share what direction for chassis pick, esc, servo size and battery size, thanks

I don’t know too much about the pan myself but I figured I couldn’t go wrong with X-ray. The ones I looked at were the Yokomo, Serpent and the Ray. All have aluminum chassis for the same price. The CRC carpet knife is made for black carpet and has a thick carbon chassis to stiffen it up. I went with the Hobbywing just stock 1s esc since it was the cheapest and all I have is Hobbywing speedos. Figure the track is small and might not need all the fancy settings. Ordered the 1S protek packs, I believe they’re 8000mh. They’ll be hitting the track next week if you want to swing by. I know 4 people included myself have new kits. Oh and a good micro servo to be safe. I put in a low profile and I had to do some shim work.

Consider looking into used. I’ve bought 2 CRC 1/12 cars used. Both deals that could pass up.
