Default Great Lakes RC Race at the Abt Electronics Cruisin for Awareness Charity Event

Hey - we're racing outside at the Abt event. Bring em out! Lets support a nice charity event and get in some fun racing.

Abt Electronics in Glenview. Start at about 8 AM with set-up.

You'll need table, chair , canopy, extension cord &d power strip in addition to your race gear (normal parking lot race stuff).

See you there!

What is the date?
And what are the classes?
2wd sct ? 2wd stock buggy? Or just on road classes?

This Sunday, 9/15

No off road classes are listed, but if you want to run a buggy or short course truck on the track it probably wouldn't be an issue.

Michael, I will be there on Sunday. Let me know what I can help out with. Baseball finally winding down, I should be able to help out with stuff the rest of the fall and winter.

Thanks again for stepping up and spearheading this club.

thanks guys for adding info on the race date. I must have been asleep at the wheel. We don't have an off-road set-up but if guys want to run some dirt stuff on the on-road layout come on down, we'll figure it out.

The organizer of the event, Joey Damore, posted on Face Book that the club who usually set up and ran the off road racing for this event is no longer racing.

I don’t understand we ran off road and on road
on the same day on the same track?

At one point in the events history the off road racing was run on a separate track and was organized by an off road club while the on road was run at the same time. I think there were some drifting and crawler demos too.

The last time st Charles hobbytown ran the race we ran both off road and on road on the same track. It’s a charity race so why wouldn’t you get other people that race off-road involved?

Joey, myself and the race director have all said that if you want to race off road cars, bring them and we'll race them on the same layout as the on road, the more the merrier!

Looks like there’s is some interest in running some Offroad sct and 2wd buggy on the track!

My son and I are planning on being there. We run SCT, so hopefully we can get a few more to make a class.

bring em out. I don't have any jumps or other off road obstacles but we'll try to figure something out.
