June 29, 2019: Going Fast, Turning Left - Lets race and speed run at a Velodrome
Cliff's Notes: June 29, 2019, 12:30pm until 5:30pm. We (r/c people) will have the Ed Rudolph Velodrome for our use. We'll have power, bleachers to stand on, a clean track, and a timing system. We'll have two programs going on, a race with two or three qualifiers and a main, and speed run/free run time. Bring a table, and an extension cord.
The ultimate goal here, is to show off, and get interest in r/c. The Ed Rudolph Velodrome is part of the Northbrook sports complex. There's a water park, soccer fields, street hockey, and other facilities attached to the same parking lot. We'll have lots of foot traffic. This is a good chance to show people what we're about, show people our neat toys, and get them into our sport.
We'll be running VTA, USGT/21.5 TC, and "sportsman". There won't be tech. There won't be awards for winning. This is going to be all of our first times running the velodrome. So.... come ready to giggle, and bring your tallest gears.
Signup link to follow, as well as facility pictures, and things like giveaways. (For now, Team Associated has sent me some stuff, CRC says they'll get us some door prizes, and I'm working on other partners.)

Just looked at pictures on Google maps. Gotta figure out how to swap places for my pinion and spur gears!

Always Saturday’s.
I’ll put it on schedule. Hopefully can make it to watch, make a video for it.

You've got six weeks. If you are up to it, post what parts you come up with. The guys at the Encino Velodrome say theyr 21.5 powered cars do 60mph. That said, they are direct drive, instead of belt drive. I think we'll lose some speed due to rubber tires, belts, and dogbone interfaces.
Who knows. Maybe you'll take home first place. :-)
