That is a good idea. That's kinda how it worked by default in the olden days when you brought your Hornet to the track for the first couple times

This year the Hadley JH RC Club used Traxxas Bandits for their team competition from February through April. Each team had a three drivers and a crew chief. They were also assigned an adult volunteer to help them. Each driver on each team drove one race per day. They all had their own trucks/cars they ran in other classes. They had a short amount of practice time before each race. We ran five races and broke one part which turned out to be defective. They were box stock and we used cheap lipos. They could lower the center of gravity if they wanted and we provided zip ties. I am sure a local hobby shop would give young drivers or new drivers a discount. We ran on the older type Ozite. The nice thing about Traxxas products is the ability to put the car in practice mode. The reason for my long winded story is that the Bandit would be a good starter vehicle. You can buy cheap 5000 mah lipos for about $20. One thing we did found out was that certain lipos don't fit well if the wires come out of the battery a certain way. New drivers will have to buy a charger and batteries no matter what car/truck they buy.

The cheapest Slash is also a good choice. The disadvantage to the basic Traxxas vehicles is the transmitter, because you cannot adjust the steering travel. But, if everyone is running the same car/truck everyone is running under the same conditions.

Looks like I'm going to try to make some one heat wednesdays! I can't beleive we didn't do that at the old track so that we could get out of there at a decent time and still have a race night.

Any idea on tires for 13.5 wheeler?

If you run pro-line tires, a set of positrons and a set of electrons are all you need. They grip like hell!

I came out for practice, and had a great time. The pit area is very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I can't wait to get out there again!

I'd like to just come out for practice on a Sunday what is a good tire that is likely to be decent to just play around with for 2wd buggy and stadium turck? Positrons a good go to? What compund? It's a far haul to get there and can't make it often so if I could be in the ballpark that would be great. Cars will be a 22T 4.0 and an old vintage JRX2 for fun.

I know it tends to change but if you were driving 2+ hours roundtrip for a practice session, what would you bring to ensure you had fun and dominated all comers.
