Default Winter Smack DOWN!!!! Jan 19-20 HobbyTown Lake in the Hills

HobbyTown USA Lake in the Hills and TimeWarp Raceway present the:
Winter Smack Down!!!!!!

Itís the Final Smack Down!!!

Who has a copy of Europeís Greatest Hits? Hmm maybe I have that wrong, I mean who remembers Europe having more than one hit. Anyhow this looks to be the end of a good run and since we arenít going to make until spring actually hits we have moved the Smack Down up a season. We are also making it a 2 day event with qualifying Saturday January 19th and the mains on Sunday January 20th.
Last yearís Smack Down was an awesome race with a huge turnout especially with the vintage community. I realize that this short notice and the change in the date will make beating last yearís car count difficult but I have no doubt that the fun will be just as if not more epic than ever before. I really hope to see as many of the TimeWarp/HobbyTown nation here for one last big hurrah before we move on to a new chapter in our lives. My Family and I feel so blessed to have had the greatest group of racerís and customerís any store or track could hope to have. Our track may be small and the pits a little cramped but nobody else has as much fun as we do. Friday nightís total of 14 Monster Trucks and 30 stock 2wd buggies is all the example you need to see that we are serious about our racing but donít take our racing to serious. We are truly going to miss having all of you here with us racing but Tom and I hope to see everyone at other tracks racing and having fun.

This yearís Smack Down is a two day event with qualifying on Saturday January 19th and the mains on Sunday January 20th. Qualifying will be 3 or 4 rounds (depending on turnout) using qual points. Mains will be triple Aís with bump-ups to the B main. Space shouldnít be too much of a problem as we will be sectioning off part of the store and setting up tables to accommodate as many as possible.

The top three of the A main in the following class will receive a trophy

Sportsman
Any 1/18 to 1/10 scale off-road vehicle
6-7 cell NiMah/NiCad or hard case 2 cell LiPo
Drivers entered in sportsman may not race a second class.
******Because we have had quite a few Sportsman racers driving 2wd Buggies we will again split the Sportsman class into Sportsman Truck and Sportsman buggy for the Smack Down. *******************

40+ Open 2wd Buggy
Open motor and ESC
Hard case 2 cell LiPo

4wd Buggy 13.5
Any ROAR approved 13.5 turn motor
Hard case 2 cell LiPo
Zero timing advance on the ESC (Blinky)

2wd Stock Short Course
ROAR approved 17.5 turn brushless motor
Hard case 2 cell LiPo
Zero timing advance on the ESC (Blinky)
Any made for SCT tire. No 1/8 Scale wheels/tires

13.5 Stadium Truck
Any ROAR approved 13.5 turn motor
Hard case 2 cell LiPo
Zero timing advance on the ESC (Blinky)

4wd Mod Short Course
Open motor and ESC
Hard case 2 cell LiPo
Any made for SCT tire. No 1/8 Scale wheels/tires

Vintage 2wd Buggy
For vintage we would like to see pre-1995 cars (Associated b2/b3, Losi XX buggy and earlier). Upgrades such as big bore shocks and modern tires/wheels are allowed as well as mid-motor type conversions as along as the transmission is from a vintage car. Innovation and custom-made parts were part of racing when I started so it should be allowed now if most of the car is made up of vintage parts and resembles something from 95 and earlier. Any ROAR legal 17.5 brushless or any turn 540 sized brushed motor. All vintage qualifiers will be heads up. This class was started for everyone to have a little fun while re-living the past so letís try to keep it that way.

Vintage 4wd Buggy

Pre-1995 buggies with a maximum of a 13.5t brushless motor or any brushed 540 motor. Zero timing advance on the ESC. Hard case 2 cell LiPo. Vintage or modern tires will be allowed as long as the wheel offset is similar to original.

Maximum LiPo battery voltage for all classes is 8.44 volts

Entry:
$25 first class
$15 2nd class & Sportsman
$10 3rd class

Thank You,
Shawn Conley
