I see that Windy City has signed on for some Racing in the Can Am series (while I like that) will it Apply to VTA as well ?
I think VTA could use it too.

I hope WC doesn't go the Can Am VTA route because I think it would dilute the field . Once racing starts up again in the fall there will probably be an A,B and maybe even a C main in VTA. If there were two VTA classes there might only be enough drivers for an A main in both. That doesn't make it much of a challenge to make the A.
This might be a moot point anyway since I'm not sure if there is a Can Am VTA class.

Today there was decent turnout (9 drivers) and the format was.. unusual. It was 6 mains, for points. All VTA. On a course much like the Tamiya TRack used for the Reedy races. That, mostly, is inconsequential. The racing was hilarious today. And we were done by 5. I suppose that's a side effect of only running one class during the day.

That... was fun. I'd totally do that again.

Thanks for the good day!

Had a blast Friday, thanks as always!

Question about the buggies... So I originally bought a 13.5 wheeler (4wd) as I was told by various other sources that 4wd was more popular than 2wd, yet at Windy City, the clear winner in class attendance is 2wd 17.5 buggy. Is this normally the case in which case I may consider an eventual 2wd switch?

Thanks!

2WD buggy is generally more popular than 4WD at most places. Most nights seem to have 1-2 heats of 2WD. This past Friday had a heat of 4WD.

First off, racing saturday, in the final VTA race, CB blew up his front pulley. I did some poking at the lap times. And CB, in a RWD VTA car, only lost half a second per lap. *boggles*

I don't see a lot of 13.5 4wd stuff. But I'm not there a whole lot. And my 13.5 4wd chassis breaks parts any time it sees carpet. (Don't buy a TT02b and expect it to work well with a modified motor) I wonder if carpet negates most of the advantages 4wd brings a chassis. I'm sure the off roaders will chime in.

I love my 4wd, don't get me wrong, but like the number of players for the 2wd buggy (2 mains?!). Will have to pick one up eventually. Would probably keep my 4wd for clay.

17.5 2wd generally has a following anywhere you go. seems to be the strongest class next is usually shortcourse but that can be a hot or not class same as wheeler

So the Can-Am series discussions have increased. And I’ve seen Windy City listed for participating in it this fall. Any info as to how it will be run?

I’m really hoping that once racing moves back to Sunday’s to be able to get there this fall/winter.
