I would imagine the program would still be both, it's only been since the 23rd that both Offroad and Onroad was going to be run on Fridays.

Will the on road track be open for practice on Saturday during the off-road club race?

Default Hobbywing ESC "problem" of shutting itself off solved

Folks: Posting this as an FYI. I've raced almost 25 years and never run into this one with an ESC. I bought one of the Hobbywing Just Stock ESCs a few months ago, and took it with me to Omaha for the TCS race. Had repeated problem that I would turn on the car, put it down on the carpet, go up to the drivers stand, and try to go and the car would be shut off. I'd have to go back down, turn the ESC on, and make sure I kept the car moving to keep it running. If I put it on the grid to start, it shut down unless I gave it constant throttle blips. Never solved the problem, concluded it could be static, but very frustrating.

Well, tonight I figured it out. I had it in a car that to, keep up some roll speed, I had roll throttle set in at the radio. Well, with roll throttle, to keep the car from moving, you have to hold the brake on. I had the car in my pit room up on a stand, and damn if it didn't shut off on me. So much for the static theory. Then it dawned on me that it had just shut off on me when I applied and held the brake. Hmm.. Tried again and damn if it didn't again shut off, in exactly the same amount of time. The fact that it did it in exactly the same amount of time triggered the "light bulb", is it somehow designed to do that?

Solution: Hit the instructions again. Buried in the middle of the instructions was a setting described as "Remote Off." This ESC is the first I have ever encountered that has a "feature" that if you hold the brake for 6 seconds the ESC will power itself off without pushing the power button. The factory default setting for Remote Off is enabled. Now I really can't think of a use for this "feature," but it is in there and, fortunately, can be disabled through programming. So now I have "fixed" my problem ESC.

I thought I'd post this FYI, as I ran this "problem" I was having with the ESC by several people, old pros, and even an old pro owner of the identical ESC (smile Uncle Kenny) , and nobody came up with this "Remote Off" being the source of the problem.

Going away from Friday club racing? (I recognize we're all feeling out the demand at the new location, just wondering)

What he said. ^^^^
Can not make Saturday racing.
Has there been any racing on Sundays with on-road? Maybe that can be a race day for off-road also?

Different question. I check in on liverc on Sunday’s, I’d say 20-30 drivers over different classes is average.

I haven’t been able to make it there yet, can’t make the full Sunday commitment.
