Default The HPI Forums

A few of us from the HPI US forums (which have sadly closed down) have started up an "Unofficial" HPI Forum Community for those who were hard done by, from the closing down of the forums.

You can acces it here:

The HPI forums closed down??

edit: That makes more sense. I was about to try and get Frank & co. on the phone to find out what was up, haha

edit #2: I suppose I could have actually gone to their site before posting, preventing myself from looking like an idiot. Here is what they posted:

November 5, 2002.
We are in the process of changing to a new support system. Our goal is to help answer questions about HPI cars in an organized and easy to use format. The new system will not be an unlimited forum like we had in the past, it will be an interactive FAQ system. For those times when you want to chat with your buddies, we are hoping to have a live chat room to take care of those needs. If you are having forum withdrawals, see our LINKS section for a list of alternative forums that are just like our old forum.

We are on our way to Japan for the HPI Challenge World Finals, so the launch of the new support system will be delayed until after we return next week. If you have a question about an HPI product, please give our Customer Service department a call.

Thanks for your patience,
HPI Staff

So yes, they ARE in fact closing their forums permanently. As stated, they will have a Q&A-type forum for FAQs about HPI products, and that's it.

And they dropped a link to R/C Tech on their links page. Awesome!

Cheers Maverick!!

I have a feeling they won't bring the forum back online, but if they do I'll still keep our forums up. I'll just change it around a bit.

they are going to lose some website hits for that...this is the dumbest mistake they made, even worse than taking away the for sale/trade forums.

glad rctech still has one!

Default HPI Forum

It is of my opinion that HPI is abandoning their message board.
There were more threads about non-HPI products than anything else. Plus as a Manufacturer, would you like to see your stuff being dissed on your own board all the time. It doesn't look good to the newbee who goes online for help and finds all these threads bashing the vehicle that he just plunked his hard earned cash for.

But think, most of the people on those boards are noobs, they say what they hear, if you look at 1/10th of the topics there aways comparing it to hpi, but also you are right, they ask what is a better car and most of the time its aways something better than hpi, but I really think they should have left the forums there at least there wasent them asses that put pictures of there crap in the toilet and stuff... what jackasses.
