Default Kyosho Turbo Scorpion

Amazing and an impressive kit. Super cool decal sheets full of themed livery and I love the wheels and tire combination. Kyosho prepainting the front sidewall tires is purely "icing on the cake". If you haven't ordered yours yet I'd advise getting two.

Yes, most definitely. I will build one to test against Tamiya's Wild One. I would suspect that the Wild One is slower because of it being so much heavier but they both look amazing in their own respectable way. Tamiya's Wild One can take a lot of pounding but I might have to put a Team Associated B3 transmission in placement of the original one.

I sold my Scorpion because it was a super low quality kit. The quality control, especially the fit and finish, was horrible. It also wasn't fun to drive on anything except smooth, flat ground. I had the most fun with it on the beach down by the water where it was smooth and not soft. I sold it. It was beautiful to look at though. This model is even cooler looking.

Bought this car because it caught my eye and looks super cool. Shelf queen, maybe, but I dropped a D4 SS 17.5 and might put it to race in our vintage class. Not expecting it to be a winner but I am sure I will have a blast.

You're kidding right? Either that or you're comparing it to what's being made now? The turbo Scorpion & Scorpion are the same Buggy with a different cosmetic look. I've got a Scorpion with Novak Edge combo with a 10.5T motor & 2S 25C lipo. The only other thing I changed was using all of the black option parts & fit decent tires. There's no point in having great expectations over any re-released kit & compared to Tamiya it was a great price. The Scorpion has also helped improve my ability at the transmitter when I change back to the 22T it's been noticed. Are slowly building an Optima kit but it'll probably never come off the shelf & they look good with the vintage Kyosho buggies we have.

Default Kyosho Turbo Scorpion Build

Just finished my Turbo Scorpion Build. Great Kit, loads of fun to build.

It runs great! The HobbyWing EZRUN Max 10 ESC stays nice and cool. I have the "Punch" set fairly low at "2" to ensure the Tranny and Drive Train can handle the Brushless power. So far no issues.

Thanks aeguy!

I used a HobbyWing Combo: EZRUN Max 10 ESC, paired with a EZRUN 3652 SL 4000KV motor.

I have used HobbyWing ESC/Motor combos in the past with good results, and I have their WiFi programming module for easy firmware updates and setting adjustments. I find their stuff to be good quality & performance. Plus I like the Motor & ESC Thermal Monitoring System.

Take care.
