MIP Super Ball Diff for Tamiya Blackfoot and Monster Beetle.
#1

Has anyone seen this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ugnm-dX0ekc&t=864s. Looks like MIP is trying to fix the biggest problem with the Tamiya ORV (off road vehicle) Blackfoot and Monster Beetle transmission. I have never used a MIP diff in any of my off-road cars, but plastics yes. Anyone have any experience with MIP diffs?

I've used the MIP diff rebuild kits in my TA SC5M SCT and B5M Buggy. Good stuff! And too bad they don't make the old Thorp ball diffs anymore, I remember running one of those in my Blackfoot and Monster Beetle back in the day, also good stuff.

Thanks Phugazi, From my take the Thorp diffs are no longer available, and if you can find one on ebay they are over $100 without the drive shafts. Seems this is a direct drop in, just never used MIP for diff's before. Just curious if there are many Blackfoot or Monster Beetle owners on R/C tech that know about this new diff. Besides this video, and MIP's web sight no other advertising exists.

I used both the MIP and Thorp differentials way back when, and it solved my propensity for stripping the hex shafts and other bits. They were totally worth the money.
