Kyosho Hi-Rider Corvette

I'm just looking to see if anyone else here had an old Kyosho Hi-Rider Corvette (circa early 90s)? My dad got me this for christmas when I was about 12, and it kicked off a hobby that cost me every dollar I could earn for years. It handled like crap, flipped over if it hit a pebble, and couldn't go much faster than a 1 year old toddler (and definitely couldn't outrun my elderly terrier at the time), but I loved that thing.

I remember seeing one when they were first released.

I had one, must have been around 1987. They are still cool, in a goofy sort of way.
I never understood the fake shocks on the truck, maybe Kyosho was cutting corners. I can't be too hard on the Vette, it was just as good as everything else around that time. Oh, the memories!

I had one that I used to race in my local tracks Monster Truck class. ( before all the RC10 and JrX2 monster conversions changed the game on the truck class).
With a set of extra Kyosho Gold Shocks scavenged from our Optima Mid when dad upgraded to Platinums, it handled pretty well for a tank that it was.
Corvette body on mine was painted a big flake metallic purple. It was a blast to drive.
Dang, that thing was stupid fun.
