An old Schumacher Mi4 has a new lease of life with an updated front suspension setup. I went this route because the Mi4 front carbon shock tower was too tall and wouldn't allow for HD bodies to rest on the body posts properly. Now this new setup allows for
HD bodies to be mounted without any issues and luckily for me all the parts are used from the Mi4 and required no fabricating or grinding of any materials.

Finally, the re-engineered TB04 takes on our modified champion winning Xray T4 2018. Both ran the same tires, body, electronics and 5.5T motors. My driver was very happy today
P.S. Reviving the shaft vs belt, beating a dead horse debate hahaha. Seems shaft can be really fast even in modified class.

I always like your videos and your insights, thanks for posting. Your daughter is a great driver.

First shakedown of our TA05 with the inboard rear shock modification. It works really well and hopefully this gives our old TA05 a little more speed to defend its 21.5T blinky title.

Tamiya TA05 with inboard shock modification wins our Modified Class.

It shows what a good mechanic / setup job and driving skill can do.

Thanks Lonestar,
I've been working on this chassis for the past year adding and changing bits and pieces. There are few things I would like to add to the chassis such as battery holder system, ball cups, turnbuckles and a nice bumper.
I really enjoy tinkering around with these vintage chassis bring them up to current performance levels and allow for newer body shells to be used.

Went back to the original dampers because it looked out of place with anything else.

I did manage to lower the front towers with some carbon pieces laying around. The damper angles are not far off from the stock damper tower. Those are bearings behind the locknut to accurately locate the shock towers since there is only one screw mounting hole.

Rear tower os still original

Flipped the transmission so ESC wiring will be cleaner.
