I only run tc4's, and although I am one second off the pace, it's not the car's fault... I got to practice more......lol.......

Rockin' the TC4 at the moment in our Scale Spec class, and she doesn't do too bad. We have a guy that runs a TC3 with us as well. Pretty cool.

TC3 at the 2012 IIC
I ran a TC3 at the 2012 IIC last week; I highly recommend this race!
I ran my daughters 12 year old TC3 RTR (only upgraded with bearings). The car ran great on the carpet. Last year I ran it in the Amateur class and almost put it in the A. This year I ran it in the Spec GT class and was leading in the B before I broke. My bad, the car was great.
The Spec GT class was handout Novak Club ESC & Motor and a 4.5 gear ratio, fixed motor timing, Jaco Blue tires, and a choice of about 10 bodies. The car was rolling very, very efficiently and I had speed on both the straight and infield on most of the cars.
The old car can still beat those carbon fiber and titanium beauties! :-)

My SD is not an LCG like the one in the picture, but I put lipo batts in mine all the time. I had to take out the original battery retaining hardware and I just use regular strapping tape, but I haven't had to cut or grind on anything to use lipos.

Basic geometry of a Pro4 is exactly the same as a TCXX - only difference with the newer parts is that the arms are symettrical front to rear which changes the wheelbase if you put them straight onto the older car. Top links have a different geometry, and I think the front steering blocks may have a slightly different ackermann setting. Shocks are still fundamentally the same design as well.
There is basically no reason why a well-prepared Pro4 shouldn't be competitive, so don't waste money updating one. I was running a TOP Scythe (which has the Pro4 suspension on it) until last season, was still setting personal bests, and I doubt I am any faster with my new ARC R10 (still beating the same people, still getting beaten by the same people!).
