Here are some vintage Tamiya buggies I picked up over the last month or so - all for decent prices I think.

Consider these the "before" photos.

The Rough Rider (light blue) is the oldest - a great history lesson on RC. I may just dis-assemble, clean, and re-assemble this one for life as a shelf queen.

The Falcon (yellow) is the simplest of the bunch.

The Supershot looks so bad @$$ - 4wd. Shelf Queen or runner? Not sure.

A friend gave me this original 1992 Tamiya Stadium Blitzer. Originally pretty damaged. Decided to keep it, since it was so different from all my 4x4 brushless monsters.

I put in new tires, rear gearbox housing, some shock parts and missing screws, diff outdrives, ESC, RX, and a full ball bearing kit. I've also got a nice 19T motor on the way for it.

The Optima is a car I coveted back in the 80's. I used to drool over the full page spots they would have for that car in the Tower Hobbies catalogs. Funny thing is, now that it's back out, I have no desire to own one.

I think this was taken in 89. We were oval racing that day. Turbo Optima.

probably not, i would imagine. When the 22 3.0 came out, I thought it would have been awesome for them to partner with Gil a little on the car, and name it the JRX3.

I have a feeling those molds are LONG gone. I was told Xfactory bought Losi's molding equipment, but who knows if it's true or not.

Holy way-back machine... the Gallop was my first hobby-grade R/C. I was 11 or 12; I assembled it by myself (poorly, in hindsight), ran the snot out of it, tore it apart after the trans stripped out, and threw most of the hardware and other small bits into a Tupperware container I liberated from mom's kitchen. I'm fairly certain the radio gear ended up in my Blackfoot when I first got that in '87-'88.

Fast-forward 30+ years, and I'm slowly getting back into R/C. That Tupperware container was still in the box of my old R/C stuff from home, along with most of my Blackfoot, my Clod, most of a Grasshopper that I got in trade for something, a couple sets of Big Bear tires & wheels, and a Big Bear body (but I never owned a Big Bear).
