Looking for Memories-Early 90's Upstate NY
Hi All,
Straight to the point - I'm looking for anyone who used to race competitively (or at all) 1/10 dirt/clay oval (read dirt modified RC10's), 1/10 off-road, and or 1/12 carpet (Colandra's, Revolver's, etc) in upstate-NY in the early 1990's - preferably at Walt's Hobby for oval and off-road, R/C Competition Corner in Liverpool which was an old movie theater, and Skaneateles Raceway for carpet and off-road, but also had probably the best high-banked asphalt super-speedway in the state at the time, that a super-nice guy named Jim used to run; it was in the same building as Cedar House Lanes bowling alley on Rt.20. Sadly, the shop is now gone...
I'm from Skaneateles, and used to race 1/10 dirt/clay oval indoors at Walt's mainly in the fall & winter where RC10's dominated; also off-road in the summer, and 1/12 indoor carpet at Skaneateles in the winter.
I may know some of you; who knows. I'm looking at my collection and seeing Trinity Slot Machines & Green Machines, man...the memories.....
Just mainly looking for good memories here....Nothing particular - no names, etc. Maybe just your favorite memories are of a certain chassis or class that you ran at the time; could be anything.
I'm just trying to keep the hobby alive in any way that I can, or perhaps reinvigorate some of you to get back into the hobby.
Please share!
