Kyosho Outlaw Ultima

Kyosho Outlaw Ultima
Way back in the day (1992ish), I purchased a Kyosho Outlaw Ultima when I drove like crazy when I was a kid. As I got older it sat and collected dust in the basement for years, until recently when co-workers started bringing in their newer cars and driving around. I dug the old Outlaw out, gave the old batteries their 15 minute charge and it ran for a solid 15 seconds.
So I went out and bought a new ESC, brushless motor and a couple 2S LiPo, took out the old MSC and servo, replaced it all, and took it out for a easy cruise. It all worked well enough. Then I really put the spurs to it, got a good 5 minutes out of it until she stopped going. To the workbench I found that I had completely melted a couple of the old plastic gears.
What I'm looking for is a full transmission replacement that will be able to handle the power of the brushless. I have a 3D printer that I could use to make mounting brackets if necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Kyosho did re released a few oldies but not the Ultima family though. Not sure if Scorpion or Javelin have the same drivetrain. Your best bet is probably to hunt them at ebay. Maybe get a complete roller as a spare warehouse... Running them on brushless and lipo may cause additional hiccups later...

I had the Kyosho Outlaw Ultima Truck back in the days. Would love to see a re-release of that one.
