Default Vintage On-Road - Why Not???

Just thinking, given that we have Vintage Offroad Racing, why is there no Vintage On-Road?

I understand that there is VTA and GT this etc. etc.

But... How many of us have an old Tamiya F102, Duratrax Delphi, Kyosho F1, or an old TC such as an OVA or an YR4, even your old 4/6 cell 1/12 car, even a vintage Bolink, McAllister, TRC, AE Pro10? For our friends in Europe one could also consider the original TC Cars - the converted Schumacher Cats, YZ10's, TTechs that ran on road tires with Sedan bodies.

Given that Vintage Off-road started small perhaps the same can be said for the possibility of Vintage On-Road.

I am not saying we need another class, just do it like the VONATS guys / gals... meet up every now and then, and run your old stuff again!

Understanding Rules etc. would need ironing out, and that is not what I am trying to push for, but just to see what interest there may or may not be for such classes?

Rules? Rules! We don't need no stinking rules. All kidding aside. Low MAH lipo and high turn brushless like a 25.5. Since they are vintage(read old) parts could be hard to find so no sense overpowering them.

I have a T-Fource that I found brand new and have collected almost all the parts to build like the one I used to race. GM V12, a 19t Komodo Dragon and some 4300’s I haven’t found a servo for it yet, but I haven’t really looked either.

It's reasonably popular in the UK. The Iconic Cup is a national series for old Tamiya cars.

When I ran 1/10 DTM Buggy it was rubber, and when I started 190mm TC (Tamiya and Keil DTM) it was Rubber.

I could see a demo class with the more pristine cars, i.e. more valuable. But if you have a car, to which parts are still available, I could easily see a class being run.

Heck even if we ran F1 again with Brushed 540's lol. I would be in.

another problem with single car laps is it will eat up Time for a competition. even at 2 minutes allowed per car if you have 20 people show up, you have a minimum of 40 minutes required and as you know that would be impossible since setup would be 5-7 minutes per run giving at least over 2 1/2 hours of dedicated track time taken from another event.

I say stagger their starts at evey half lap that way once the first car finishes his laps, he pulls into the pits, while other cars have to start from the pits after the timing loop. (everyone would start from the pits). Depending on lap times, you could stagger it so that at no time more than 3-4 cars on on the track at any given time. I think this would warrant track space and mitigate collisions and slowdowns. That would be cool to see.

Love to see some old Tamiya RM Mk. 02's (my fav 1/12 ever) I could push that front end so hard. Please re-release Tamiya, lol.

An RM01 series would be cool as well, one could almost say the Foam F1's could run at the same time.
