MRC Thunder King World Scale ESC

Life long dream. Almost completed early 90's Thunder King. This is the entry level BBX model which came with black plastic bushings (now has Boca Bearings), no large HD bumper and no clear splash guards.

The vintage Futaba MC210CB i stuck in there can't handle the dual RS540s (Johnsons). Gets read hot within 2-3 mins....

What is a good reliable ESC that can handle these. I was thinking about 3S as well.

Thanks Dan, I actually have a vintage Novak SR, but it has some goofy battery connectors and doesn't have bullet connectors for the motor.... and I didn't feel like soldering connections on to something that probably doesn't work that well to begin with.

MC210CB is also so old it just is not smooth or responsive. Its very "choppy" for an ESC.

I was looking at a Hobbywing ESC....I just don't know too much about them.

wow an MRC, never thought id see or hear about those again. friend of mine had a thunder king back in the day. dont remember his set up, just that it had a tekin esc.

my first hobby grade battery charger was branded MRC (super brain 809)

MRC seemed to have some pretty decent stuff. whatever happened to them?

My first MRC product was a RB-475 "15 min." quick charger....used in 1991 off a classmate. I also had a MRC Super Brain 969 Charger in the very early 2000's which was great for its time.

MRC is still around, just out of the R/C vehicle industry. They make a lot for model railroads and have some of the best transformers around.

They made World Scale from early 1990's to early 2000's.
