Pittsburgh Area winter racing?

so i just spent a small fortune getting back into R/C with the outdoor off road stuff, and its already starting to cool off these days lol. looking for some winter R/C action in the Pittsburgh area. i live in WV, but AFAIK there's nothing around for winter time, figured i'd look to Pittsburgh. on road or off, electric/nitro, any scale, etc, i'll buy a chassis just to get involved.

would really LOVE to give 1/12 a try, but again, im open to whatever.

any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

There's a pretty sweet club level off road track just outside of Fairmont. Its a 15 minute drive from Morgantown. 2wd SC, 4wd SC, and 2wd buggy have been the more popular classes so far. They run Friday nights and Sunday afternoons.

Look for quietdell raceway on Facebook.

Would you mind giving me an idea on the popularity of the classes?

Mod 2wd buggy.4wd corr..2wd corr are prob the biggest classes..normally we run a points series in stadium truck and alot of guys will run that also..escale gets decent turnouts also..4wd buggy is hit or miss..guys will run them if u post on the forums and get everyone togther..if u go on mcculloughs forum and look at last winters race results it'll give u a rough ideA as to what goes on.

PT Raceway near Murrysville

If you want to race on carpet, there is PT Raceway. Look for us in the Track Locator forum. We race off-road on Friday evenings and oval Sunday mornings. We're also on Facebook.

We haven't raced 4wd buggy in a while but people still have them. Some of the classes go in cycles. The 2wd SC & 4wd SC are usually our biggest classes. We also usually have a good 2wd buggy class. We won't turn anyone away.

Sometimes we run mixed classes, like 2wd & 4wd buggies or buggies & stadium trucks. On Friday, it's rubber tire only, 2 cell lipo or 6 cell NiMH. On Sunday, the same battery types apply and you can run foam or rubber. When it gets busy, we can have 50-60 drivers.

Yes I have been informed of the beaver raceway. I really would LOVE to try my hand at 1/12 racing, or any pan car that's not LTO. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the skills, nor anywhere to practice. Might have to go with VTA. Been looking for a good shaft driven TC chassis.

I wheel an old tc3 in vta and it's a good car and so is the new tc4 club racer
