Well turnout was pretty low today...and yeah it was a rain makeup...but that was why they switched to Friday nights last year 'cause people just don't show up on Saturdays.

It could have been better if it was better plan. Instead of posting something up at 6 on friday night say that they are racing saturday. I know some more people that would come if we ran saturday.

This saturday was not a scheduled race day. We where going to run Friday night but the rain did not let that happen. So Jim did what he could to let us race and was able to put together a race day for us. Everyone would of liked more notice but you can not control mother nature.

Don't forget this Friday night we will be racing again and it is a 17.5 SCT Cash Race.

Also a congrats to Mike C. on his win in Spec SCT.

I think it would be nice to have one or two saturday day races a month. It would give a chance for people who travel to at least come one or two times a month.

Well I think Jim is going to stick with what works for him and that is Friday night racing. Last year on Saturday the turnouts where not that great. But I will stop by the shop today and talk to Jim but can't promise anything.

I know of a lot of people that would like to race on saturdays due that they cant come Friday nights. I can think of about 6 mod guys that have told me (in the last week) they would come out if we raced a Saturday I remeber saturdays that where really good! I remember mod buggy going to a c main every weekend. I just think last year we had more problems due to weather and how it was ran. It seem to take all day. I think its worth a shot! I mean if you guys can get permission from the township to run a race less then 12 hours befor the race why cant we plan a race?

Well I talked with Jim today. He has decided to keep Friday racing. He does want to do a Saturday Race of some sort in the next month or so. As for the township giving him permission yes but the deal is for Friday racing with the occasional Saturday race. So with the rain on Friday they allowed him to run on Saturday. So I know that is not what you wanted but hey this is his buisness and he has to run it with the rules he has been handed. I know racing Friday does not fit everyones schedule and some can't do Saturdays and some can't do Sundays but these are the cards we are delt. Lets make the rest of the year as good as the begining.

this thread has sparked my interest now that there is talk about running some saturdays, as mentioned above, there are people who would like to run at pitstop this year(me being one), but friday nights just arent possible for them, i think that the problems that existed last year would have been there regardless of the day that the races were held, seems like you guys have straightened things out and have drawn some people into pitstop this season, but mod recently has been hit or miss on friday nights, but alot of people have mentioned they would come out for some mod classes if there were some saturday races. friday just really limits the crowd to mostly locals but saturdays opens it up to more people who have the entire day and not just an evening... just my 2 pennies

I don't care either way since I live close...but I think it would be cool to do a mini-points series on Saturdays (maybe one a month)...total of 5 races with one drop and a cash payout at the end (or trophies).

That is a great Idea. Might be something Jim can talk to the township about for next year.
