Default South Florida Dirt Oval Racers

Southland Speedway
in South County Park,
Boca Raton (southern Palm Beach County)

This is a club-run track, for racers, by racers, and all about having fun.

We run every Saturday. Sign-up starts about noon, with racing starting about 1:00 PM. We currently run (based on my foggy memory):
  • Electric:
    Novice Oval
    1/18 - 1/16 electric oval
Classic - (pre-1980 bodies on buggy chassis, with Traxxas Titan motors)
1/10 Electric Sprint Cars - (10.5 brushless or 19t brushed, 2-cell lipo or 6-cell nimh)
4WD Electric Late Models (4WD buggy chassis, late model body, 2-cell lipo, whatever brushless you can handle)
Crazy Brushless - (what ever doesn't fit into other electric classes has a place to run)
Short-Course Truck - [any RTR chassis, stock (chassis and all electronics except receiver) but Traxxas Titan motor]
we do run these off road

2WD Nitro Oval (mostly nitro stadium trucks)
1/8 Nitro Sprint Cars (1/8 4WD buggy chassis)
1/8 Nitro Late Model (1/8 4WD buggy chassis)
    Nitro Truggy
and Coming Soon - 1/8 Brushless (open class - late model or sprint body for now)

It is a real fun place to race, with a great group of people. We'll try to beat you, but if you need help, there's always someone to lend a hand.

And I'm not even an officer of the club, but its the most fun place I've raced in nearly 20 years of RC.
Ve8 1/8 Sprint-car, B44 Late Model, B4 Street Stock, B6d Classic, B5M EDM, SC10.2 66 Mustang Bomber, SC10-FT SC-Mod, Durango 4WD Nastruck, CW Outlaw 3 Sprint, and more others than I want to think about.

Talking Possible New track in Gulf Breeze FL -

Hey everyone - I have noticed there is only 1 track in the florida gulf coast area - anyone here in the panhandle? (destin,Hurlburt AFB, Eglin AFB, fort walton, pensacola, navarre, gulf breeze)

If you get a chance, head to our "exploratory" forum, and let us know what you think, maybe suggestions... We have an available lot large enough for a short course, a LARGE off road track, and a concrete oval... Just looking to see if anyone out here is into RC heavily - I hear all the guys at Eglin and Hurlburt have cars, but nowhere to race.. we'd like some opinions!

If your in the Panhandle, please weigh in!

Anybody races 1/5 on roads in South Florida? Preferably Dade/Broward areas... Just moved in from CT and not very familiar with tracks here.
