McCullough's Offroad - Pittsburgh, PA - Indoor 2008-2009
Hey all -
McCullough's Offroad kicked off the indoor season last weekend and has two indoor races under its belt.
Good turnouts were had in electric the last two weeks. We had 14 4wd Modified and 9 2wd Modified in week 2. Not a bad turnout. It should only get better.
We still open the doors at 7am and begin electric racing at 10am. The nitro program follows and normally starts by about 4 with people arriving all afternoon.
Traction is high for those that never visited us. Electric cars generally run slicks made from Pink Taper Pins with some relatively stiff foam. Hot setup seems to be the old Trinity Blue foam. We use buggy grip on the tires. The larger nitro vehicles tend to run a little more pin and are usually seen with taper pins, switches, inside jobs, or things like that.
Check us out at www.mcculloughsrcracing.com. I'm hoping we see some of you this winter. We will be getting around to race at some of our neighboring Ohio and PA tracks. Any questions can be directed here or at our website forum. I'll be keeping an eye on this forum.
Thanks...

Tim - doors open at 7:00am for electric practice. Electric racing is at 10:00. Nitro is after the electric racing. You only need to bring a power strip. Pit tables and chairs are provided with power hookups in the middle. Hope to see you there tomorrow. Stop and introduce yourself!

Hambone - I think the nitro is a little down right now as most of the nitro guys are taking a short break after the outdoor season. I left today right after electric and there were a few Truggies on the track, so there should be results for this week. There were also 3 of the new Associated 1/8 scale stadium truck. Those looked cool! Give it a few weeks and there will be a huge nitro turnout as we had last year, consistently.
Electric racing today was awesome again. We had 14 cars in both 2wd and 4wd modified. If you're into electric, the program is very competitive right now. We could still use a few more mod trucks. We also had a stock truck class today.
Hope to see some of you guys coming out soon. Still looking for our Altoona buddies to make a road trip.
