We have just started Parking Lot Racing@Hobbytown Indy N. Brand new store, just changed locations to a much better spot, and bigger. We started racing in the lot last Sunday. Looking foward to doing it again this Sunday. Good food very close. It is in the same lot as the Castleton Square Mall on the NE side of Indy, home of the Indy 500, the Nascar 400, and the U.S. Nationals. Here's the info courtesy of Indyrcracer:

We were able to get 1 1/2 heats in. Then the weather gods decided to pop in their ugly heads. The new track location was definately more bumpy, but also had more grip than last weeks location in the lot. There was much fun being had. I think I can improve on the location for next time.

We almost doubled the entries this week. I think as time goes by, the word will get out about the good time to be had in the outdoors.

Looks to be one of the best days of the summer for outdoor racing. We'll be there @ 8:45 setting up the layout. Track should be open for practice @ 10AM. Racing @ 12:00. Nitro TC's have been heard to be showing as well as the rest. BC

Weather looks to be shaping out decent for racing this Sunday. A weather front should move through Saturday night/Sunday morning, which should bring the temps back to the lower 80's.

IMO it turned out to be arguaqbly the best day for racing this season in terms of weather and turn-out. The weather was mostly overcast until the Mains and then it turned sunny making the track a bit greasier with the increased temperatures. But it was not bad to be sunny late in the day in terms of sunburn.

We had 1/18 and 1/16 scale turn out for a new addition to the program. Thanks for making it a show.

I enjoyed the track position between the cracks in pavement we were able to deliver today. It was a fun track.

There was much fun being had.

The last two weeks I had @ 18 entries. This Sunday turned out to be be the best turn-out yet @ 23.
Once again, thanks to everyone who attended, both the drivers, support, and spectators.

Big VTA race in FT. Wayne next Saturday for thier 3 Rivers Festival. Good luck to our drivers who plan to attend.

I got a call that some VTA friends from Illinois with some "Big Boy Shoes" are coming Sunday. Big Money Racers from the "Fort" race, if you didn't get enough on Saturday, get ya some on Sunday.

From the looks of the weather, they may be racin' that money race on Sunday.

But weather looks good for the Sunday, Indy race.

My asphalt is a bit bumpier than "Strictly" is. I try to find the smoother spots for transitions, but no matter what I do, it's still a non-pristine parking lot. But it's cool 'cause it ain't bad and we all have to deal with it like any track.

Was a most beautiful day for racing. Some VTA friends from Illinois showed up to make an 11 car VTA class. Our biggest yet. 13.5 Pro stock count was also up. Total turnout came up to 25 entries from last weeks 23. A big THANKS to all who came out to enjoy the fun.

This coming Sunday's weather, 78o and sunny. Is this really the middle of July?
