Well, we would have plywood on the top to cover the whole roof tying it all together, so I doubt they'd go anywhere...

Paulie, did you see anything @ Kinser we could use for stairs or material for railings?

If the scrap yard had a metal aircraft stand, we could just weld the thing to the connex and be done with it.
Either way, if we had to, we could get the wood and do it ourselves. I'm thinking we line the top with plywood, and build the railing off of that.
OR
If we could find some square metal tubing, we could just weld it to the top of the connex since the "cage" is solid steel, and make some safety railing.
I have all sorts of ideas to make it look nice w/stairs, etc. I had it all done for Robert to show his leadership, and my fricking computer crashed! Lost everything! Sorry Robert! Just go with my crude drawing of the 4 ISO's, and tell them we'll make a platform on top with stairs and safety railing.
If they seriously can't understand what we are trying to do after that, then I just dunno know what to say...

I can offer a little info and support for the EZ-Run systems. They make or have made 3 systems that could be looked at for 1/8 scale, the 80a,120a and the 150a. I currently have a 80a system in a brushless Revo and you could not ask for better performance for the price (I payed about $125). I think in a buggy for hardcore racing this system my be a little under powered. The 120a system I feel would be an ideal setup for the $$, listed @ about $160, the problem is there are none available. The last time I checked on E-bay companies were listing them but the orders got cancelled because they were out of stock. I have no doubt the 150a system is a strong and good system but for the same money you can get the Monster Mamba, which we know has great customer service.
My 2 cents

Ken, I just tried to order the 150a and as you said, it's sold out. I'm gonna take your advice and get the Monster Mamba instead. Thanks!

I think it is a good choice, just remember to make sure you get enough battery. Prices very a lot on Lipo's lower price doesn't always mean lower quality or performance. Just make sure what ever you get can provide up to 120a, the MMM will ask for it and the batteries will be tested. FYI, remember Amps x C rating = available current EXAMPLE: 2, 7.4v 5000mah 25C batteries in Series can provide 5a x 25c = 125amps @ 14.8v = a screamin buggy!! Good Luck

I'm all for Lipos (as I'm sick of having to go through my regiment of cycling/disharging, etc with my NiMs), but the Slash doesn't have a LiPo cutoff stock, and honestly the truck handles much better with the heavier weight of the NiMh (it's more stable, with the right shock oil of course).
So it's a toss up for me. I'll probably just use some 3600mah stick packs and call it good...but if you let me change my speed controller to one with a LiPo cut off, I'd consider changing just for the ease of use the LiPos deliver...

I am running stock ESC with an external cutoff, with 2s lipo's. If that is not allowed for the slash class...........then I just won't run it. I own 2 NIMH batteries for on road and I refuse to buy more. Got too much tied up in Lipos. HOHOHO.
Swung by "THE HILL" about 3pm, you guys did a lot of nice work on the jumps(1/8 scale), how well did they launch the cars?
