Anyone run in North Jersey?
Hey Guy's and Gal's
Just wondering if there were any locals that got together to run on or offroad. Seems like the yuppies have taken over up here and there is no where to ride my atv's, shoot my guns or run my cars. I had been out of the hobby for quite some time but now my son is getting into it and you know Dad has to get into it again so he has someone to play with We've got a nice yard, and some local parking lots but that gets old quick. Back in the day I ran at an offroad track in Oak Ridge, but I can't seem to find out if it's still around.
If anyone knows of a spot or maybe a group that goes out regularly any info would be greatly appreciated.

The last outdoor race was in October. We are running indoors until the spring.
Interestingly enough, there is also someplace to shoot your guns nearby. I don't know exactly where it is, but there is a shooting range within earshot (no pun intended) - we can hear them shooting sometimes from the track.

Just getting back into RC after an eight year hibernation. So far I've got a FT B44 built, and I'm working on a FT TC4. Next on my list is probably an E-Maxx, Mini-t, or the new Rustler VXL. Just sux so many things come rtr now, half the fun is building them. My son has a Twin Detonator but will be running in the beginner class with a B4 or a Tamiya Sand Storm.
The whole quad thing is a real sore spot with me. I grew up in Sussex County hunting, fishing, and riding where I wanted and when I wanted. Now it's been overrun by yuppies in our towns and politicians who look to please them!

Welcome to NJ. Not sure if you have ever tried it yet but a bunch of us who race on road and offroad in the summer are racing mini z's in Saddle Brook NJ at Maj's Hobby Shop.
You really should bring your son you both would like it alot. It is a very friendly and fun atmosphere and every one is very helpful.
Maj's Hobby Shop is located in Saddle Brook NJ and we race Thursday nights and Saturday nights. You should stop in some time.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the invite. Saddle Brook is quite a ride for us though. I was looking into running some mini-t's this year with my son, they have a special class for them at Dirtrunners.
