Default New Braunfels Peeps...

Any of you peeps in the New Braunfels area? Have a track out back and trying to get guys together to make it a bit more fun.

Here is a pic of the latest layout...modular jumps so they can be rearranged.

I am located between San Antonio and Austin...a little closer to SA though...about 30 miles out. The track is certainly unique given my constraints.

I am not out in the middle of nowhere with a lot of spare land and access to heavy equipment, so I have tried to make the track easy to work on with simple hand tools and such. Plus I don't want to create a situation where the track is not easily irreversible should I need to get the yard back to something normal for whatever reason. As a result the track does not consist of mountains of dirt that undulate all over the place. That would be cool, but a real bear to live with and work on.

Hence the layout has a lot of cut-thrus and ways you can change the running pattern to keep it interesting without digging up more yard. Plus the jump elements are modular and easy to reconfigure. Don't like the jump positions relative to turns or to each other? Just move them around. Also tried to make it as non-destructive to vehicles as possible.

I am still working out a main jumping complex that would be larger in scale with both take-off and landing ramps rather than just landing on flat track. That will be nice to have.

Here is a link to a video of me turning a few laps.

What size RC is the track for? I would like to come check it out. I live in SA but grew up in Canyon Lake. Where in New Braunfels are you?

I have a 1/8 electric buggy that I run on it...and most of my friends have 1/8 as well (nitro and electric)...and one 1/10 short course truck. The wife has a 1/10 monster truck. A little more length would be better, but it works!

I am located off 46 headed out of NB towards Boerne. Just about a mile outside loop 337. I back up to open fields so I am not smack in the middle of the subdivision. Come check it out at least. It is a decent place to run when I would rather not trek into San Antonio. Plus I can control all the variables for vehicle setup.

If my parents still had a place out there I'd be there.

Very nice for a backyard track.

Thanks. Just ordered an I-lap timing system...much cheaper than the AMB induction loop type. Excited to start getting accurate lap times.
