Here is their facebook page. Looks like they have a nice location, track area is 40x100. No word on classes or any details like that yet but a track that size will be good for anything really.

The owner just emailed me back, matt is correct area for track is 100x40, he told me he will have access to dirt and bobcat when the time comes but would love help putting track together as well as input on track layout ideas. He said he is potentially wanting to set something up for April as far a meeting with a group to discuss these things. He said he is also interested in starting an offroad racing club that meets on a regular basis. The lease is signed and the location is on industrial between buffalo gap and treadway, so south Abilene which means is close enough for me to run by on lunch break from work! Ill let you know if I find anything else out.

Is this off road or oval? Not sure is y'all know but we do have a oval track up here in Wichita Falls and have a big race planned for Memorial day weekend.

According to Facebook post for hobby town abilene. The owner is planning on having a meeting there on Tuesday the 24th at 630 for racing enthusiasts to talk about the track setup possible racing ideas etc. I'm going to try and make it, just wanted to let folks on here know about it in case they aren't following on Facebook

I won't be able to make it on Thursday, but like TZ i also hope they will make it so both 1/10 and 1/8 can run on it. Just from the posts on this topic it sounds like we have enough interest to make a solid 1/10 buggy class.

I think there were about 12 of us there, pretty good turnout. The owner said they're going to have a "soft" opening on 2 May with the grand opening on 9 May. Haven't heard a definite when we're going to start work on the track but he said he hopes to have the track up and running by their grand opening weekend. It's going to take quite a bit of volunteer work to get it built and keep it maintained though

Default Hobby town Abilene track

I am pretty pumped about this. I have built a good sized track before. I was not able to make it to the meeting though as I was out of town and found out about it too late. Did they come up with a possible track design already? So far all I have seen the behind the shop is one small pile of dirt.
