Closed out the month with a couple of additions to completion. RC10T4 chassis got a power unit re-certification test session following install of a Reedy 17.5 FT and 600z 'blinky' ESC from the T3. Next day, the T4 added one point to its season total by completing a 59-Lap Full Practice for Record (FPR).
And, the front arms and bumper of the 21.5 Rusty got some lightening work with the drill. Both looking forward to quals for the Serie 5 March event.
Cheers. 'AC'

RC10T3 , racing #4, cut the Ace of Diamonds out of the deck for TQ in the Serie 5 Las Vegas Qualifier on Monday. Her second TQ of the season. Today she put down a 4-Lap Trophy Dash time of 35.0sec and a 10-Lap Feature time of 1:23.5. The '4-Truck' continues to sit on a season points lead, but has not won a race. Just always being there putting down consistent laps and scoring just enough points to maintain the lead.
New this month is the Maclan 21.5 comp power unit, displacing the previous HW 13.5 Blinky FT. Much more manageable package for the short track oval. Not off throttle all the time like on the 13.5. That and love the Maclan drag brake. Roll off throttle now and tons of weight transfers forward.
Round 2 tomorrow with the RC10T2. Hoping to beat the rain. Cheers. 'AC'

Dodging in and out of forecast rain that never came, Serie 5 is a done deal. Again, and for the third time this season, the "1-Truck" came away with the win. And along the way set not only fast time for the event, but fast time for the season and beat its own standing track record. First truck in the 'teens' on the back yard grass track, 1-truck laid down a deceptively fast 1:18.25 10-Lap Feature race. Someone must have forgotten to tell the 1-truck it is only racing for half-points this season as it continues to dominate the circuit, albeit currently P4 in overall standings.
RC10T3, the 4-Truck, continues it march forward as points leader with a P3 this month. Currently sitting at 84 season points, and with one special test event left in the season, it is on track to break into the coveted '100 Club' with a good showing in the final season event come April.
This event puts paid to the regularly scheduled events for the 2021 season. April brings on the Special Test event and all-run grand finale for the 2021 season. Cheers and keep the shiny side up. 'AC'

RC10GTe "1-Truck". Winner Serie 5 2021.

No fooling around. Off and RTR is the final competiton event of the 2021 Season. All-run melee for the six ST's in the serie. No truck sits this event out in race reserve.
TQing is the RC10T4, '72 Truck'. Top Qualifier for this event is determined by the best Full Practice For Record (FPR) time recorded earlier in the year.
Appropriate too, as the 72 is the sponsor truck for this RC re-creation of the Chihuahua Express road rallye held in the Mexican city of that name every April. The T4 JConcepts body is captured in BRE livery on commission from RC Bombshells.
Field is set, 1 thru 6. Rounds begin tomorrow, weather permitting. In a break from normal oval track procedure, this event runs 10 laps counter-clockwise turning left; does an infield crossover reversing field and runs the final 10 laps clockwise turning right. Combined time from two heats of 20 laps each truck determines placing. Kind of a change-up to give it an out-and-back rallye feel. Wings are in for this final as well. All trucks in competition are allowed to fit spoilers. Heads-up starts all trucks too. No qualifier set-backs.
This is will be a fun finish to a rewarding season. Guarantee. Cheers. 'AC'

Wow. Did I ever step in it. Yesterday's Round One was a bust. Not only did the TQ truck push back vigorously against the design and format, but so did all the trucks yet to race.
UTRL BoD held an emergency meeting and implemented an immediate action change. Scrapped the CCW / CW format and put in place in moderately expanded standard format. The '72 Truck' gets a re-run after the other five trucks complete their rounds of racing.
Not so much a day's racing lost, but lessons well learned. E.G., "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and "Don't make significant track and rules changes without first checking them on an off-race day'. Whew. Cheers. 'AC'
