Default Houston TX Outdoor Off Road Tracks

Hello, I am new to the hobby of RC and have got a Kraton recently. I been running it at the local park but was thinking of finding a track to practice at. Are there any tracks the have a "open" day for anyone to pay and drive the track, or are they limited to registered racers? I live in Dayton TX, east of Houston. I see a track in Porter TX, not to far from where I live named Mikes Gulf Coast RC Raceway. I figured I would ask here before showing up one day with my truggy and get told to beat it lol.

Thanks for the link. I had found the website, but it didnt have much information on it. Have you been there before? I think I went there a long time ago looking for a part to my old RedCat Volcano (7 years ago). Rather than blast me for having a cheap RedCat the guy explained my RC was a knock-off and finding parts will be hard (locally stocked). I will give them a call today.

I haven't been yet, but plan to soon. From my understanding the track is setup for racing, they race both nitro and electric. But when they aren't racing, anyone with an rc vehicle is welcome to run on the track and have fun.

But yeah.. give them a call. They are good people and welcome everyone.

I am hoping to practice there this Saturday. I am waiting to hear back to see if they will be open this weekend as there will be a large race at N-Control Raceway (Dale, Texas) for the Texas EOS (15th) and the NOS (14th).

We have still yet to go, maybe this Sunday but I bent my Kraton chassis this morning. Anyone know if they allow a MT without a body to run practice runs only? My son has a stretched Nero, but no body on it.

Mike's is a great place. For practice, as long as the track is open, you can run whatever you want.

I stopped by a few weeks ago to get a MIP hex driver. Some nitro guys were there.

Track looks great, super high bite but looks like super high wear lol.

What are you guys running? Hobby Shop guys said anything soft? Holeshots or something else?
