Default Proposing 1/10th buggy winter series

Hey all racers!! Most indoor tracks have plenty of 1/10th buggy (2 and 4wd) so I'm proposing a Tri-State Buggy Bonanza. Here are my thoughts:

1. Start in October, end in Feb.
2. Every other weekend racing
3. 2 races (see format below) at each participating track, drop "worst finish" at each
4. Can run during normal race days or make "special" race day depending on entries.
5. Series racers pay $30 entry fee per class (host track keeps $4, $1 towards trophies, $25 into class pot)
5. 100% payback through top 8, trophies to top 8 (with trophy costs coming from $1).
6. One day event per track, no overnight format.
7. Only 1/10th 2wd buggy (can separate 17.5 from open) and 4wd buggy
8. Series racers get 100 points for highest finish (regardless of race outcome if mixed with non-series racers) and 2 less points descending. No shows get 0 points. (That means you need points from next race at that track).
10. One race (best finishing points) from each participating track will be used to get final point standings. That way you could miss a date/drive if work comes up, you finish good, or you hate that track.
11. Payout 35%, 25%, 15%, 12%, 8%, 5%, 3%, 2% (top 8). All would get a plaque/trophy in top 8; t-shirt/plaque to all series racers.
12. 1/10th buggy ran at every indoor track already and this keeps times/race day shorter than opening this up to other classes.

Ideal tracks (within a 3hr drive for most, all indoors): Adventure rc, REO rc, radioactive rc, RBS rc, and thunder rc. It's really up to the track owners if they want this. This is what I suggest. Tweak/discuss, modify. Each track is unique and you could make some new friends (or enemies).

Format:
1. 3 heats (5min), 1 main (7 min) -REGARDLESS of participating tracks
2. 100pts to series racer with best finish, 98, 96,etc.. 0pts if no show
3. ALL tracks start at 10am heats (Furthest distance is Adventure RC to
Thunder RC; 4 hr drive. This hopefully reduces confusion and overnight
trips)
4. Treasurer attends all races, verifies entries, holds $26/racer
($1 of that for trophies). Host track verifies $$ count for that date. (Double
check system)
5. Treasurer uploads results, points, and next race track / date on RC Tech

6. Minimum of 3 track series (5 would be ideal)
3 tracks - 3 races each, drop worst point finish- 6 races for total
4 tracks - 2 races each, drop worst finish - 4 races for total
5 tracks - 2 races each, drop worst finish - 5 races for total

Possible payouts with 30 entries per class and all racers showing up for each race date:
3 participating tracks ($25 towards pot x 9 race dates x 30 entries)
1st: $2360 -----8th $135
4 participating tracks ($25 towards pot x 8 race dates x 30 entries)
1st: $2100 -----8th $120
5 participating tracks ($25 towards pot x 10 race dates x 30 entries)
1st: $2625 -----8th $150

Trophies / t-shirts: 30 racers/class at all race dates approx. $270 /class for
trophies / t-shirts.

Distances:
Radioactive --REO 156 miles
--RBS 112 miles
---Thunder 153 miles
---Adventure RC 237 miles
REO---Thunder RC 143 mile
---RBS 135 miles
---Adventure 100 miles
---Radioactive 156 miles
Thunder----Adventure 175 miles
----RBS 50 miles
---Radioactive 153 miles
---REO 143 miles
RBS ---Thunder 50 miles
---Radioactive 112 miles
---REO 135 miles
--Adventure 174 miles

Suggest you discuss with your local racers, get their input, interest, suggestions. Really need to have those track owners PM afterwards. RBS and Thunder RC already contacted and interested from an owner's viewpoint, but need racer input.

Thanks fristo! Got you, Steven T., and Randy. That's 3; 2 2wd and 1 4wd so far. Just need a few more (just kidding, a lot more). Chime in on format / rules so everyone can get a clearer idea of series.

haven't seen that, but I think too many classes with multiply tracks gets a little confusing. Some tracks have SCT, others don't, but all have 1/10th buggies. Batavia is 6.5 hrs from Nashville so that's too far to join in with. Plus, if it's buggies only, tracks could run them on Sundays separately from their normal race schedule, still make $4/per person/class, and get done at a decent time. I know we average 10 buggies/Sat at RBS, Thunder avgs 18 per Saturday and these aren't the same racers. SCT has dropped to about 10 here and less than 6 at Thunder. Not sure about Radioactive, REO, and ARC, but I don't think it would be difficult to get 30 Spec, 30 mod, and 30 4wd buggy people. That's 90 entries alone and 3 rounds and mains would take 6+ hrs so let's keep this simple. I do appreciate the heads up though.

I think the distance between the tracks is too far...and I'd like to see all classes. Maybe because I don't run buggy tho lol.

But I do like the idea of a multi track points series.

Its cool that points racers can run with non points racers at the same time. So people aren't excluded from racing on points night if they aren't part of the series.

Entry fee is a little high. And racing for that much money could cause lots of problems. I mean people get in arguments over trophies lol.

I don't think track owners will like the Loss of revenue. I say track owners collectively buy trophies and put up a small cash and/or rc item prizes. Then let the respective tracks keep their own revenue.

I'm in for some of multi track points series

Just my 2 cents.

I think if you could get thunder and rbs and radioactive owners in the same room something could work out For you guys. I don't plan on racing this winter. I am getting out of the hobby at the end of the summer!!

I think they all do usually. I'm hoping RBS does one this winter.

Out of all of these radioactive is the closest to me. It's 3:15.. So other tracks are likely 5-7 hours for me. I love the idea of the series. However, I could not make many of them due to distance. Although I could make the wingo races and possibly one at Nashville.

Any chance the money could be on a weekend race rather than series otherwise people who live too far away cannot have a shot. Or.. Since this hobby is intended for fun. Why not race for fun with lower entry fees and have entry fees go back to the track to have a better place to race. Just my thoughts. Awesome idea though! And... Where are all these tracks located at? Thanks for any help.

Ok, so I did a little research and figured out where all these fine tracks are!!
Louisville- 7 hours
Clarksville-5 hours
Nashville-5 hours
REO- 5:30 hours
Wingo-3:15
Safe to say I can't make those trips every other weekend. Lol.
You Kentucky and Tennessee folks are lucky to have so many tracks around you guys!
Someone come build one here in Arkansas! Lol
