Racing on the ice in Memphis
We're looking into doing some bashing at our ice rink in Memphis. We got the idea from some Youtube videos and thought it might be fun.
I've dabbled with helis for about a year, and just bought a 1/10 electric 4x4 truck. One of the reasons I bought the truck was to play around with on the ice.
We would have to go with electric vehicles as splashed gas from nitro vehicles would be nasty and bad for the ice. We would likely run at night and wouldn't cut the ice after the event prior, allowing the ice to stay pretty rough. We also have an abundance of "snow", which could be utilized for bumps and/or maybe a couple of ramps. We would have to do this in a way that setup and takedown would go pretty quickly.
We would love to get a couple of interested folks to help us determine if this is doable. We would need one or two folks with some experience and maybe some different styles of tires to try it out. We would also need help with design and setup as we have no experience laying out a track nor do we know the best materials to use for our situation.
If there are any locals interested in helping us with this, please PM me.
