VERY IMPORTANT!!! Chilhowee Track Tear Down Plans... Please Check In!!!

With 2 races left in the summer schedule we have to make plans for the tear down. Our lease ends on August 27th, meaning we have to have the site back to the condition we found it when we moved in. If we have a problem completing this, it will probably discourage Chilhowee enough where they will not invite us back.

The tear down will not take much effort if we have enough help.

Here is a short list of what needs to be done;

Tear down;
disconnect electric
Pit road
staging
pipe and pins
flatten jumps
install fence

There are some maintenance that needs to be done so we can be ready for the big come back when the fair is over.

Maintenance;
Repairs to drivers stand
Stain drivers stand
Clean up conex box
Shore up steps for conex box transport
Paint pit road
Paint staging
Paint wood jump

The tear down dates are;

Sunday 8-19-2012 starting at noon till ??
and
Wed 8-22-2012 starting at 3pm till finished

Please check in ALL RC fans, members or not.

The SUCCESS of the tear down will determine the future of RC in Knoxville.

Who's in???

KillerBarracuda 07-31-2012 05:16 AM

John, I'll try the best I can to help. What are the times on those dates? I work til 6ish on Wed. and church on Sun. Your club has over 100 members you should assume to have at least 1/2 of them would show up and help, right? Step up guys, please.

Im in and I cant wait for another fresh start to the fall racing at chilhowee!!!

There should be an army of ROCCK racers to help with this... the more the better!

The plain truth of what John stated earlier.

The teardown is more important than the setup for the future. If we do not do a good job of returning the site to its original state (as outlined in the contract with Chilhowee), there is a good chance that we will not be asked back. ROCCK has been very successful at the Chilhowee facility, and want to continue that relationship. There is really more work to do than can be done in the two days John has outlined. To make that successful we need all hands on deck.

Thank you to those who have already chimed in! This is part of your membership responsibilities, and keeping RC racing alive in Knoxville.

Thanks,
Rockit!
