if you show up and your the only 4x4 we'll run you in with the 10.5 2wd SCT so you at least get out on the track. but yes 4x4 sct open is hit and miss depending on who shows up that weekend.

one thing I was wondering about the rules regarding electric 8th scale at thunder RC. wouldn't running an average 8th scale motor/esc on a 2s battery kind of beat the battery to death?

Yes it does but most of the guys just ran 2 2s in parallel instead of series so they have 10000+mah and it runs fine. As it is, 8th scale at thunder hasn't run in 6 months or more. Most guys just got a 10th scale as the track is more suited to them. The 1400 4s is still way too fast but even running a 1900 4s becomes dangerous on a track that small. 1900 "turned down" still has the acceleration that can take a foot off. You can bring it out and we'll see where we can put you. But I can't guarantee you'll be able to race it.

I see, we still have a decent 6-10 car electric 8th scale class at our local track here in iowa. its a small technical track, so throttle control is big. i've been sort of forced by the track to learn how to drive it on smaller tracks.

I run a castle 1800 truggy motor in my losi 8ight on 4s, but i have it turned down to 40% indoors, and full 150% outdoors.

most guys here are running 17-1900 motors on 4s.

there's one guy with a 550 motor on 2s that is just as fast.

ya the getting them to turn it down thing can be a bit of a pain and yes one of our guys ran a 550 motor and did quite well with it. but like I said I would just like all the guys to have a 1400kv motor so as not to have to worry about it.

the class is mod 10.5 or less and novak defines the KV for their 10.5 as 4200kv so yes

Thanks Robert, Ive never seen the KV to turns relation chart. Just wanted to make sure our main and backup systems were legal. Think we're gonna try to make it up there for off road this weekend.

First thanks to everybody that made it out. The local support was great as was the out of town support for the TOUR series race. Big thanks to Alan from Greenville Speedway for the TOUR series and rules package and for keeping things straight in tech. That made my life so much easier. Thanks to Brad Norris for helping out in tech. Thanks to Eric Anderson and Bryan Klamer for working on getting this race here at Thunder RC. Thanks to the Sponsors Hyperdrive, Mudslide, Epic, Tekin Delicious Vinyl and 7even bodies. I want to put the suggestion box out there. [email protected] 615-499-6151 I am listening and yes working on thinner ice and a cleaning agent that doesn’t leave residue and next time the track will be FULL width. No more seam in the groove of the back straight. Anything else you guys got I will try to accommodate. I hope other than those major things that everybody had fun and had good racing. I WILL make the next one even better.

Full heat and main results

Are you guys still in the same location as a couple of years ago? When do you race offroad open/start times and dates. Do you have an open 2wd buggy class?
